The Young and the Restless Week of June 8 Update: Phyllis Asks Summer, Nikki Devastated, Matt’s Secret Monitor

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) update for the week of June 8-12 indicates that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will have an important task to accomplish while Phyllis Summers (Michellle Stafford) hopes to fix things with Summer Newman (Allison Lanier).

Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) life will also get turned upside down, so let’s talk about all the action ahead in Genoa City.

Once Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) makes it back for a return stint, he’ll try to establish a connection with Holden Novak (Nathan Owens).

It’ll take time for Malcolm and Holden to truly bond as a father and son, but they’ll be off to a nice start.

Malcolm will tell Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) just how thankful he is for Cane’s life-saving donation.

Now that Malcolm’s recovery is going well, he’ll praise Cane for his role in making it possible.

That said, Malcolm won’t give Cane a pass for his past treatment of Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and will insist he’d better not hurt her again.

Cane will be totally committed to proving himself to Lily and will give her good news when he accepts her offer to run Chancellor.

Despite Matt Clark’s (Roger Howarth) reservations about heading down another bad road, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will count on him to spy on Cane and deliver information that Victor can use for payback.

Since Matt can’t be trusted, Victor will apparently count on Adam to watch over him and make sure he sticks to the plan.

The last thing Victor needs is Matt going rogue and causing more chaos, so he’ll put safety first and have Adam follow him.

The Shadow Room’s opening night will bring some fun for several Genoa City residents, including Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver), Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian), Christine Blair Romalotti (Lauralee Bell) and Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei).

Malcolm, Dr. Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox), Holden, Claire Newman (Hayley Erin), Cane and Lily will also attend Noah Newman’s (Lucas Adams) opening night.

Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will take a break from dealing with Matt issues as she raises a glass to Noah at the event later.

When Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) gets into a heated confrontation with Audra, some Noah jealousy will be at the center of it all.

Meanwhile, Victor will make a surprising business-related move while Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) decide things should be less contentious between them.

Next, Nick will head to a meeting at the rehab facility, so he’ll make an emotional confession about his drug addiction with Nikki by his side.

Afterward, Nikki will dodge Victor’s medical questions as she tries to deal with a devastating diagnosis on her own.

Y&R fans can expect Nikki to need treatment immediately, so we’ll see if this relates to a troubling brain mass or something else.

Finally, Phyllis will contact Summer and wonder if her daughter is willing to forgive her now that she’s surrendered Newman Enterprises.

Daniel refused to give Phyllis a pass since she was forced to give up the company and didn’t really do it voluntarily.

Will Summer feel the same way or cut Phyllis some slack since she ultimately made things right with the Newmans regardless of her motives?
