Tears Flow as Nikki’s Health Crisis Escalates — and Jack Kisses Patty

At Laurence’s house, Diane thinks about Jack and Patty on the yacht and cries. As she lies down on the sofa, he comes in and tells her what Jack did to her was a brutal betrayal.
Laurence assures Diane he’ll be there for her, and she thanks him for being kind and supportive. He warns they could be working together for some time. Diane questions this given he’s so good, but he insists they have a way to go. Has she thought about moving on from her marriage? Diane hedges that it’s a big decision. She’ll sleep on it… will he give her sleeping pills?
As Diane campaigns for a prescription, she claims to have suffered insomnia and nightmares since the yacht… specifically about Jack and Patty. He stalls and Diane snaps that she’s exhausted and needs him to give her sleeping pills today! The debate goes on at length. Ultimately, he won’t give her a prescription. When she asks about Jack, he tells her that her fears he’s moved on may be justified.
Break and Enter
At the Abbott house, Jack whines to Billy about having to play along with Patty and updates him on the latest. He explains Kyle tailed Markham to a compound near Power Lake. Billy hopes he’s not thinking about breaking in and suggets he go to the cops. Jack says the P.I. is tailing the doctor and Burrow wouldn’t be able to get a warrant. Billy warns a B&E could be dangerous. Jack will do everything necessary to find his wife.
Escalation
At the ranch, Victor leaves a voicemail seeking medical advice. Nick comes in and asks his dad to keep Matt away from the Shadow Room. Noticing his demeanor, he asks what’s going on. Victor, realizing his son doesn’t know, tells him his mother is sick with a mass impinging on her optic nerve. Without risky surgery, she’ll go blind.
In the hospital, Victoria sits at Nikki’s bedside. Her vision is still blurred, and it isn’t going away this time. Her symptoms are getting worse; she’s really scared. Groaning, Nikki says it’s getting darker and the pain is worse.
Victoria calls for help as Nikki wails that she can barely make out her face and exclaims, “What if it’s too late?” Victoria begs her to let her call Victor. The doctor enters and declares that radiation is no longer an option given the escalation but no surgeon in GC is qualified. Victoria runs into the hallway and calls her dad for help.
Back at the ranch, Victor updates Nick that his mother’s in the hospital and he needs to find a qualified surgeon quickly. Nick heads out and Victor gets on the phone.
Nate, at Society with Stephanie, returns Victor’s call and the Mustache explains that Nikki’s in the hospital in desperate need of a surgeon. He’s found a Dr. Virginia Nottingham. Stephanie knows the New York doctor, so Nate puts her on with Victor and she takes the lead. After, Nate warns Steph that Nikki needs a miracle.
Meanwhile, Nick arrives at the hospital. Nikki’s gone for tests and Victoria cries in his arms.
After Victoria updates him, Nick gives her trouble for keeping it from him. She explains the doctor wants to remove as much of the mass as possible to save their mom’s vision, but it’s high-risk. He assures her their dad will get someone to operate. Victoria sobs that their mother is terrified and so is she. What if she loses her eyesight?!
Victor arrives with Claire and tells Victoria and Nick he thinks he found the best surgeon in the country. As her grandfather starts to cry, Claire hugs him.
Oh Nooo, Jack
Back at the Abbott house, Patty’s back from shopping and paws Jack as she asks about his visit with Billy. He admits they were talking about Diane. Patty’s irked and is finding all of this very wearisome. If she’s wasting her time, maybe Diane just needs to become collateral damage.
Jack gets fired up, which turns Patty on. He tells her that hurling threats at Diane does the opposite for him. Patty apologizes but suggests he may want to distract her from having horrible thoughts about his wife. Jack grabs her and kisses her.
Patty purrs that that kiss reminded her of the yacht. Jack sends her to make martinis and then runs out the door. Patty quickly realizes and calls Laurence to warn they may have a problem.
The Final Scenes
At Laurence’s house, he asks Patty what the problem is. She warns that Jack may be onto something. “Stay on alert,” she warns. He may be headed his way. Laurence thinks they can use this to their advantage. He disconnects and tells Diane her worst nightmare has come true. “Patty Williams has moved in with your husband at his request.”
At Society, Nate tells Stephanie how worried he is about Nikki. She asks how he’d treat her. He goes on until realization dawns, “I see what you’re doing.” She can see how much medicine is still a passion for him. Nate will help the family through this.
At the hospital, Victor tells Claire, Victoria and Nick about the surgeon out of New York. Victoria wonders how quickly she can get there. There may not be much time left!
