Stephanie Bolts Upon Meeting Alex’s Daughter — and Amy Makes an Emotional Appeal to Johnny
Alex drops by the Kiriakis mansion to tell Justin he’s a grandfather again. Justin understands what it’s like to be kept away from a child and to have a wife who accepted his child as her own. Alex just hopes Stephanie will feel the same way about Kelsey that Adrienne did about him.
At her place, Stephanie admits to Jada how much she hates the Kelsey situation. As someone dealing with PTSD, how is she supposed to fit another woman’s baby into her life without absolutely losing it? Jada encourages her to tell Alex how she feels and suggests that meeting Kelsey might change her mind.
Do as I Say
Upon moving out of the dorms, Ari comes to the Hernandez home, where Gabi waits for her. They immediately argue over how dangerous Liam is. Referencing Stefan, Ari basically calls her mother a hypocrite. Gabi points out the men’s differences and orders her daughter to stay away from Liam. If she doesn’t, she will do something about it. “Don’t test me.”
Gabi returns to the Kiriakis mansion, where Alex shows Justin photos of Kelsey. After Justin leaves, Alex confides in Gabi, who understands a complicated co-parenting situation. She encourages him not to miss one more second with his daughter.
Amy Wants Justice
At the Pub, Roman confronts Kate about setting Johnny up. Kate accuses him of letting Marlena get into his head. Roman knows the extremes she will go to, especially for her children, and what’s happening to Johnny has benefited Philip’s company.
Johnny wakes up in the hospital to find an emotional Amy standing over him. She deeply apologizes for what Sophia did and asks him not to badmouth her to Trey. She doesn’t want her grandson growing up hating her. Johnny promises and offers to let her see Trey whenever she wants. Amy returns the photo of Trey that Sophia stole from his place, but he wants her to have it.
Later, Ari runs into Amy in the Square and offers her condolences. Amy coldly points out that Ari turned her back on Sophia, but admits she didn’t see how badly Sophia was hurting either. However, she will get justice for her now. “So help me God.”
Stephanie Tests Jada’s Theory
Chanel couldn’t be less thrilled when see and Joy bump strollers in the Square. Chanel learns Kelsey is Alex’s daughter, but won’t stand for the rest of Joy’s attempt at small talk. They are not friends. She orders Joy to stay away from her and Johnny.
Chanel brings Trey to see Johnny and tells her about Joy. Johnny, in turn, tells his wife about his visit with Amy. He blames himself for backing out of the original adoption, but Chanel reminds him that Sophia’s actions are on her. She then gets a notification on her phone that her biopsy is scheduled for tomorrow. She curls up on the bed in Johnny’s arms.
When Joy brings Kelsey to the Pub, Kate’s excitement turns to surprise over the Alex reveal. Stephanie enters and hesitantly meets Kelsey. She makes a hasty retreat to the square, where she runs into Alex. Though clearly unsettled, she covers with her husband with no mention of seeing his daughter. Back at the Pub, Kate offers to let Joy stay in her old room. She empathizes with being a survivor who does what she has to to protect her children.
