Leo Makes a Promise He May Not Be Able to Keep, and Brady and Kristen Are Heading to Another Showdown Over Rachel
Sarah’s happy to finally give Marlena a clean bill of health — but that doesn’t mean Marlena’s mental state is much better after losing John. “I don’t even feel like myself sometimes.” That’s worrying, but Sarah still hopes Marlena will bring her practice back to the hospital.
She might just do that, but not full time. Sarah thanks Marlena for at least still seeing Xander while she was on a break, even if he’s being a big jerkface to her and Brady. Also, Marlena knows about Sarah and Brady — they’re super obvious — and she’s worried about her stepson.
Can Brady and Kristen Agree?
Brady visits Kristen at home, living her best non-jail life, then spoils it all by telling her about Rachel’s shenanigans. Kristen wants to bring her home, while Brady insists the kid needs help. He doesn’t help when he says how Rachel’s doctor claims their priority should be convincing Rachel that they’ll never get back together.
Kristen feels like Brady’s trying to pin this on her and she puts her foot down. She doesn’t delude herself about him anymore, let alone Rachel. (Please. We doubt either of them really believe that.) But they both agree they were a toxic couple. Kristen lets on that she knows about Sarah. She played nice with Rachel, but he’s being super selfish moving on with her right now.
Foster Offers to Help Julie
After trading insults with Julie at the bookstore, Gwen’s card is refused. In the Pub, Dimitri checks his phone and chuckles. Gwen tries another card, then rushes out as Julie crows the victory to Foster. They sit to chat about Book Club and she asks what he thinks about the bereavement book club with Marlena and Maggie.
“Don’t do it.” He tried something like that, but he wasn’t ready and couldn’t handle it. Foster doesn’t want Julie to experience that and she sits back, suddenly realizing she may not be ready either. Luckily, he’s in a better place now and can lead it instead! Julie’s happy to bring him aboard.
Can Leo Get Javi to Listen?
Out in the square, Leo tries his best to talk to Javi, who just shoves him away, instead of listening to anything. He’s decided Leo’s not committed enough to them and that’s that. (This man is maddening right now.) In the background, Gwen sees them talking about the kiss, then disappears.
Javi just pushes Leo until he agrees with him and beats himself up over being the horrible, fickle person Javi’s telling him he is. Javi, just go. This is absurd. Well, Javi’s leaving after he tells Marlena not to file the marriage certificate.
“More than anything,” he says in tears, “I wanted to be your husband!” You know how you could make that actually real, Javi? Clearly not. He hands the ring back.
Can Gwen Shake Dimitri?
Gwen finds Dimitri in the Pub, where he gloats in her face until she steals his fries. They then take the school-yard tact in solving problems and mock each other for having no friends. Turns out, that’s what Gwen hates him the most for: “Destroying my friendship with Mattie.”
She won’t let up, she won’t leave him in peace and she won’t let him have his happily ever after. In fact, she tells him she just spotted Leo with Javi sharing a passionate kiss! Dimitri’s shaken by her taunts, but won’t take the bait.
In the Show’s Final Moments
Sarah promises Marlena that she and Brady are being cautious. Marlena’s also worried about Brady living at the mansion. Rachel needs a home of her own. Brady tells Kristen that she and Sarah are still early days, but it could be a good opportunity for boundaries and… things devolve into yelling with Kristen accusing him of flaunting his new girlfriend in her face. That went well.
Gwen storms out, promising her revenge. And pouring Dimitri’s beer over his head and dumping his plate in his lap. Leo promises Javi that he’ll propose one day soon again, then tells him to take care of his dad. At least they tell each other they love each other before Javi leaves in tears.
