One Huge Question Looms Over Fairmont Crest: Who is The Impaler?
The excitement of the cotillion and the big plasma ring is over, and we’re left with a lot of recapping about what went down. Derek’s dead, Lia’s chained to a bed in the hospital and Joey’s being questioned by Elon about Randy’s unexplained presence at the warehouse. Elon warns that he’s going to find the person behind the whole plasma ring and if it leads to Joey, he’ll be dealt with. Joey insists he’d never put Jacob or anyone in Elon’s family in danger.
Ashley’s Grief Swallows Her
Naomi tries to comfort Ashley, who doesn’t know exactly how to mourn her ex. She rewrites history to make herself the bad guy, which Naomi points out is totally the last thing Derek would want. Naomi calls Jan, who comes to help Ashley deal with everything. Mother and daughter talk about Derek always wanting to be a hero, and acknowledge that he died as one. Spiraling, Ashley is able to connect everything bad that happened to her own past actions.
Shanice Puts Lia on Blast!
Marcel suggests to Lia that she might be able to dig herself at least partially out of the hole she’s in by telling him what she knows. When she won’t talk, he goes to see Joey and suggests he might retire, for real this time. But Joey rejects that idea. At the same time, Ren is at the police station trying to cut a deal, saying he can give them The Impaler.
Lia tries explaining why she did what she did to Shanice, but the nurse is having none of it. After vowing to make sure the hospital gets through this mess. “I will make sure [the staff knows] that your tarnished, despicable legacy casts no shadow on them,” she says. “You set off a chain of events that got my friend killed. You can rot in hell!” Jacob is her next visitor, saying that Grayson has immunity and she has a limited window in which to make a similar deal. But Lia insists she doesn’t know who the Impaler is and “couldn’t identify him if you put a gun to my head!”
Vanessa Eavesdrops
In his office, Bill and Tomas are talking about a possible connection between Lia, Lynette and the plasma ring. Kat suggests ways they might follow the trail, but Bill insists she not get involved. Later, Kat and Tomas are discussing Lynette-related theories over lunch at the club as Vanessa listens in from a nearby barstool. She hears Kat say she hopes Jacob will ask Lia one question: Did she have Lynette killed?
Is Joey In Too Deep?
Donnell confronts his mom about Joey and his potential role in the plasma ring. She furiously points out that Joey only “picks on people his own size. He would never go after the under privileged who have to sell their plasma to afford groceries!” Donnell, however, isn’t so easily sold, and later visits Joey to tell him as much to his face. Joey also calls Randy, telling him to get in touch with the Impaler and tell him the whole mess is getting too close to his turf!
