Grayson and Ashley Put On a Show For Lia — Plus, [Spoiler] Returns!
Bill is shocked to find out that Hazel Harcourt, the woman suing Madison, is being represented by none other than Mike. (For those needing a reminder, Mike was Bill’s partner until he was fired following accusations of sexually inappropriate behavior.) He threatens to destroy Madison’s career and reputation, delaying the process with motions and suggesting they jump right to a settlement of $40 million.
At Orphey Gene’s, an obnoxious reporter tries questioning Madison and Chelsea. When the purse designer knocks the guy’s phone out of his hand, he threatens to sue. Fortunately, Elon happens to be there, convincing the guy to drop the charges. The ladies later go to Bill’s office, where they realize that the reporter was sent by Mike to rattle Madison’s cage.
Joey Jumps to the Wrong Conclusion
Joey’s very bad day gets better when Randy gives him an update on who Smitty was meeting with. Amusingly, the men wrongly assume that Jacob (aka Rashid) is a male prostitute, an accusation that Joey later confronts Smitty with. Smitty and Joey have a verbal standoff, after which the reporter calls Jacob to tell him about the latest problem they have to deal with. As for Elon, he goes to the casino to see Joey. In the process, he unintentionally reveals more than he’d intended, clueing Joey in to Smitty and Jacob’s investigation of the blood ring.
Grayson Gets New Orders
Naomi and Ashley talk about Lia’s involvement in the ring and the danger unfolding at the hospital. No sooner does Naomi leave than Ashley finds herself facing Lia, who says the nurse is better off without Grayson. Later, Ashley is trying to get info out of Grayson when, realizing Lia is watching, she hauls off and slaps him (at his request). Lia jumps to Ashley’s defense, sending Grayson back to the lab. Smitty shows up at the hospital ready to snoop for more info, and Ashley — newly aware of what’s going on, or at least some of it — nervously helps by giving him access to Nicole’s office. (For her part, Nicole is at home, having knocked off to spend some time enjoying the company of Carlton!)
Smitty and Ashley basically compare notes, with him telling her Grayson seems like a good guy who got in over his head. And it’s about to get worse, as Lia — having gone over Derek’s head to Leslie — tells Grayson he’s now a volunteer at the clinic, where he’ll be asked to start stealing plasma ASAP!
