The Element of Surprise
Immediately following Katie’s reveal that Hope is the “visionary” behind Deke’s line, the press peppers the women of the hour with questions. Foremost on reporters’ minds: How exactly did Brooke respond to the news that her daughter was leaving Forrester Creations for its newest rival? Though Hope has been lying to Brooke for weeks, she tells the truth on the catwalk, admitting that Mom was as in the dark as someone locked in a closet with a burned-out lightbulb.
Regrets, She’s Had a Few
Despite the success of Hope’s launch, it appears that she hasn’t gotten all that waffling out of her system yet. In fact, after the show, she goes crying to Liam that she’s trashed her relationship with Brooke. But c’mon, Hope, if you could get over the fact that Mom slept with your onetime boyfriend Oliver, surely she’ll get over this!
Besides, we’re still not convinced that it is the real Hope we’re dealing with on screen. Here’s why we suspect something fishy’s going on.
Brooke Orders a Rewrite of History
Mind you, Brooke won’t be getting over this anytime soon. Oh no, in the immediate future, she goes right back to yelling at Katie, forcing her to defend her decision to poach her niece from Forrester. But as usual, Brooke isn’t really listening. She hollers that “this is not happening” as if she has the power to turn back time and undo what has been done.
Spoiler alert: She does not have that power.
