Stephanie Has an Explosive Showdown With Owen, and Leo Gets a Surprise Visit from [Spoiler]
Kayla cautions Shawn not to overdo recovery and Belle walks in with flowers just as the doc tells Shawn she’ll be giving Jada the same spiel as him when she takes him home. Oops! Kayla sees herself out to let the former couple hash out this little faux pas.
Belle’s obviously upset as Shawn explains he figures other arrangements would be more comfortable for both. She agrees that it could bring up uncomfortable feelings… “But what about you and Jada?” Shawn insists it’s fine. (But yeah, feelings are on their way!)
Will Stephanie Be OK?
Stephanie’s dejectedly brushing her hair, as Alex packs and promises she’ll feel better after she’s home. “Yeah,” she says, sounding anything but sure. Kayla brings the discharge papers and insists she’ll be checking in often on her daughter. But before Alex can get her home, Stephanie has somewhere to be.
Jada’s wrapping things up with Jeremy at the station when Steve drops by to apologize. Jeremy launches into his, “Aw, shucks, it’s understandable,” spiel, signs some forms, shakes hands all around and leaves.
Left alone, Steve admits to Jada that Stephanie is struggling. That’s when she strides in, demanding to see Owen, with Alex trailing helplessly behind. All three of them practically fall over themselves to say it’s not a good idea until Stephanie yells at them to “Stop!” She’s doing it. Now.
Stephanie Attacks Owen
Jada yanks Owen and he’s off the creepy charts the second he enters. “My love! You came to me!” Stephanie stares him down, very clearly trying to murder him with her eyes. Then Jada joins the guys and they watch, horrified, as Stephanie closes the blinds.
Inside, Stephanie glares as Owen launches into his insane “love” rant. When he’s done, she lets him have it: “I will never, ever, ever love you, you psychotic bastard!” and “I am the one with the power now! Get it?!” He keeps going until she wails him across the face and screams “I hate you!” over and over and over again until the others burst in. Jada pulls Owen away as he warns Stephanie will “never be able to forget me,” leaving her to fight back sobs in Alex’s arms.
Leo Gets Some Advice
Kayla finds Leo at the nurse’s station, writing, and reminds him no screen time with a concussion. They have a little chat about his mess of a love life and overly-emotional Leo ends it with a hug for his kind doctor. She gently suggests he set up a session with Marlena.
Then Belle comes out and Leo thanks the DA for not charging him or Dimitri. As he laments his love life again, she suggests he ignore the doctor’s orders and write down his feelings. (OK, but there’s a reason for no screens with a concussion, Belle…) Leo decides on a pad and paper.
Jeremy and JJ Are Struggling
JJ’s being miserable when Julie gets home after getting the full rundown of the shootout from Shawn. She’s worried, but JJ promises he’s not hurting himself and still seeing his therapist. Julie offers her unconditional love and support (Guess he’s a family member she does that for!), saying JJ will come out of this stronger.
Jeremy then shows up as Julie wraps up, and he and JJ compare notes on their futures. Jeremy admits his “no worries” responses have been a front — he’s struggling to let go of his anger.
In the Show’s Final Moments
Chad calls Belle to say he and the kids are coming back soon. (Here’s how soon!)
Jada heads over to the hospital to assure Shawn nothing’s changed, despite his shooting omission, other than having to earn back her trust. Steve also shows up at the hospital to fill Kayla in on what happened at the station. Stephanie “was defiant and she was distant.” (Um, the “defiant” thing is a bit belittling, Steve.)
Alex and Stephanie get home, where he gives her her wedding ring back and slips it over her finger with a loving speech about moving forward. Stephanie looks less than certain, but goes along with it.
Jeremy admits that Stephanie will always be the one that got he pushed away. But he’s not staying in Salem because of her, but to… show up everyone who doubted him. JJ, for whatever reason, tells him that with everything that happened with Owen, he might have an opening with Stephanie.
Leo’s reading over his musings on love and his men, when his door opens and in walks… Dimitri.
