Days of Our Lives Spoilers (DAYS Spoilers, DOOL Spoilers) Marlena Evans, Stefano DiMera

THE PHOENIX JUST SENT A MESSAGE FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE AND WE ARE NOT OKAY

Marlena Evans tells Stefano DiMera to rest in peace at his mmorial on Days of Our Lives, and three candles immediately blow out on their own. Between the Queen of the Night flashbacks and Marlena’s months of bizarre behavior, Salem might want to rethink that whole “he’s gone forever” celebration.

Marlena Evans Tempted Fate and the Candles Had Thoughts

Last Friday’s Days of Our Lives ended with a moment that should have every Salem resident checking their locks, Marlena Evans stood alone at Stefano DiMera’s memorial, spoke directly to his urn, told him she hoped he was at peace because that would mean he’s gone forever, and then admitted the quiet part out loud. “I’m not sure we get that lucky. Lucky enough to have you gone forever.”

And then three candles blew out. On their own. In a room with no wind. While Stefano’s grand music swelled from absolutely nowhere.

Marlena jumped. She turned to look at his portrait. And honestly? We jumped too.

This is the man who has died approximately seven hundred times and came back from every single one. Hope shot him. He survived. His car exploded. He walked it off. He drowned near Maison Blanche. Showed up six months later looking refreshed. The Phoenix doesn’t stay down, and those candles just reminded everyone in that mansion exactly who they were dealing with.

The Queen of the Night Flashback Was Beautiful and Terrifying – Because Stefano and Marlena Can’t Dance!

The episode dropped a full masquerade ball flashback — Stefano in his Phantom of the Opera mask, Marlena as his Queen of the Night, Lohengrin swelling in the background. Very dramatic. Very ominous. And can we talk about the dancing in that vintage clip for one second? Because the show superimposed other couples spinning wildly around the ballroom while Marlena and Stefano did what can only be described as a stiff one-armed shuffle in the center. Absolutely no rhythm between them. Stefano could orchestrate international crime syndicates but could not find a beat to save his life. Iconic, honestly.

But the flashback wasn’t just nostalgia. Those Queen of the Night dreams have been haunting Marlena Evans since last summer, and they are not normal grief dreams. She told Kayla Brady it’s not her body that’s sick — it’s her SOUL. Blood tests come back clean every time. Susan Banks hugged Marlena and felt a literal chill run through her, then warned EJ that his stepmother had “moved over to the dark side.” Classic Susan wackiness? Maybe. Except Susan’s visions are never wrong on this show. Never.

Everyone at That Memorial Basically Dared Stefano to Come Back

The parade of fate-tempting at this memorial was absolutely unhinged. Kayla stood in front of the urn and declared that Stefano can’t hurt them anymore. Roman insisted he finally wins. Marlena told a dead man she hopes he stays dead. Every single person in that room essentially looked at the universe and said “bet.”

This is Salem! Where Dr. Rolf keeps resurrection tubes in his lab like other people keep spare batteries! Where Steve Johnson walked around with Stefano’s entire personality implanted in his brain via microchip! Where the man’s portrait has been holding full conversations with people for years!

Some fans online have even floated the theory that Marlena isn’t just being haunted by Stefano — she IS Stefano, courtesy of another Rolf chip situation. We’re not endorsing that theory, but we’re also not saying those candles blowing out made us feel great about things.

Marlena’s Use Of “Hopefully” Was the Real Tell

Here’s the detail that’s been eating at us for months. When Kayla reminded Marlena Evans that Stefano is dead, Marlena didn’t say “yes.” She said “hopefully.” Salem’s most brilliant psychiatrist, a woman who has faced the literal devil twice, cannot bring herself to definitively say that Stefano is gone.

Between the Queen of the Night dreams returning, the soul sickness, Susan’s warnings, and now candles blowing themselves out at his memorial, Days of Our Lives is telling us something loud and clear. Whether Stefano comes back in the flesh, through Rolf’s mad science, or through whatever is happening inside Marlena’s mind, the Phoenix is not finished with Salem.

Those candles didn’t blow out because of a draft. And Marlena Evans knows it.
