Sidwell Vows to Make Sonny Suffer for Marco’s Death — Plus, Brook Lynn and Chase Learn If They Can Foster Phoebe

At the church, Sonny informs Sidwell that he came here to tell him he had nothing to do with Marco’s death. Sidwell notes Sonny had every reason to kill his son, as it leaves him devastated and distracted. Sonny knows what it feels like to have a son murdered, but if Jenz only focuses on him, then he’ll be letting the person who killed Marco go free.
Sidwell still believes Sonny had Marco killed to send him a message. Ric says the brutality of the murder proves it wasn’t his brother, as Sonny wouldn’t inflict cruelty like this on Sidwell when he knows Sidwell could put him in prison.
Sonny warns Sidwell to stop assuming he killed Marco, because he has a bigger problem. He’s got an enemy who hasn’t revealed himself, and that enemy is who took out Marco. Sonny and Ric depart, and Sidwell ponders their words.
What Does Justine Ask of Jordan?
At the gym, Justine runs into Jordan, who has just come from Marco’s funeral. Jordan says Sidwell thinks Sonny murdered Marco, and is out for blood, which Justine notes is bad for Port Charles. She asks Jordan to tell Sidwell that there is no way Sonny killed Marco.
Jordan notes she must have a lot of faith in Sonny, but Justine says this is only business, not about any feelings she does or doesn’t have. Sonny had no motive to go after Marco, and she doesn’t see Sonny starting a war with Jenz that could blow back on his family. Jordan agrees, but how do they convince Sidwell?
After their yoga class, they continue discussing Sidwell, and Justine says he’s still a person of interest in Charlie’s firebombing, with the WSB and Interpol monitoring him. As his right-hand person, she asks if Jordan will be OK? Jordan insists she will be fine and says she had misgivings about working with Sidwell, but this job is one she can leave at the office and finally has a work-life balance.
Justine asks if she misses pouring everything into her career. Jordan says sometimes, but her life is more f
Danny stops by Crimson to see Charlotte. Jacinda asks Charlotte to help her catalog dresses after she and Danny catch up, and heads into Nina’s office. Charlotte knows Danny got into a fight and was suspended at school, and fighting won’t solve anything. Jacinda eavesdrops as Danny states he wants to make the people who did this to his dad pay.
Charlotte reminds him that the WSB did the same thing to her dad, and he’s still in hiding from them. They are untouchable, and his dad warned him not to mess with the WSB. Danny says he has a plan and runs off.
As they go through the dresses, Charlotte vents to Jacinda that the only reason she’s here is that her mom fears that if she’s left alone, she’ll contact her dad, but her dad is a fugitive, and she has no idea where he is. Charlotte unknowingly says a little too much to Jacinda, noting her mom and Nina all think they can outwit her dad, but her father knows what he’s doing.
What’s Stella’s Latest Bright Idea?
Stella drops by Portia’s office at the hospital with a box of donuts. It’s a bribe to convince Portia to bring the whole family together to decorate the nursery for the baby. Stella wants both her and Curtis to feel comfortable in each other’s spaces and in the nursery for the baby’s sake. Portia can’t say no to that, or the donuts.
After Stella leaves, Isiah meets with Portia, having just come from the funeral. She fills him in on Aunt Stella’s nursery decorating plan. Isaiah is annoyed by the idea and asks if she’s OK with this. He even notes Stella worked her, as if she said no, she’d be the one standing in the way of everyone getting along.
What’s Trina’s Big News?
Trina and Kai stop by Curtis and Jordan’s place, informing Curtis that Stella asked them to meet her here. As they wait for her, Trina tells her dad she’ll be singing at Charlie’s open-mic night tonight. A thrilled Curtis says he’ll be there front and center, but Trina doesn’t want him there.
Trina says she wants her first time performing to be chill and casual, and she doesn’t want her own cheering section. Curtis thinks the crowd will love her, and her grandfather will want to be here, so get used to having a cheering section.
Stella soon arrives and tells them about the nursery decorating plans. Trina is thrilled by the idea, but Curtis doesn’t look as happy. Stella asks if he thinks it’s one of her hairbrained ideas, but he finally speaks and thinks this is one of his Aunt’s most inspired ideas ever.
Is Danny Headed for Danger?
Danny shows up at Sonny’s and talks to him and Ric about what the WSB did to his dad. He knows he can’t save or free his dad, but he wants to make the WSB.
Sonny understands how Danny feels, as he ended up where he is today at Danny’s age. He won’t let that happen to Jason’s boy, and tells Danny this life costs too much. Ric knows Danny wants to help his dad, but to let them take care of this. Danny keeps ranting that the WSB has to pay, and Sonny says they’ll take care of this. Danny ends up storming out.
Will It Be Good News for Brook Lynn and Chase?
At the Quartermaine mansion, Brook Lynn is excited as she and Chase are about to find out if they will be foster parents. Chase reminds her that no matter what happens with Pheobe, they have their own plan to become parents.
In the living room, Michael finds Willow, who is waiting to speak with Brook Lynn and Chase about becoming foster parents. He thanks her for this and notes he stopped by her house yesterday to talk to her about Kai. He wanted Kai to give Wiley some private baseball lessons, and Willow says she’s fine with it. She then thinks about how Kai and Trina said too much the other day, which tipped her off to their being there the night she shot Drew.
Michael heads out, and Chase and Brook Lynn meet with Willow. Willow spoke with family services and the social worker they met with, who was very impressed by how they handled Wiley’s poorly timed question. Her only concern was their desire to foster this baby and their possible long-term plans for Phoebe.
Brook Lynn and Chase insist they are only a safe place for Pheobe to land temporarily. They know this girl isn’t theirs, they just want to help her. Willow believes that, and she said as much to the social worker. Brook Lynn’s face, however, seems to tell another story…
In the Show’s Final Moments
Michael shows up at Crimson, so Charlotte departs to get a coffee. Michael tells her about running into Willow, and something about her taking to this new job so easily doesn’t sit well with him. Jacinda tells him not to worry, as things can turn on a dime. They kiss.
At the Qs’, Willow tells Brook Lynn and Chase they’ve been conditionally approved to foster Pheobe, and the final paperwork will come through when she’s released from GH.
Chase walks Willow out and thanks her. She brings up how this new career finally lets her people, but her new Chief of Staff is stirring the pot and wants to run background checks on everyone, including Kai. She asks Chase if Kai’s name came up in the case of Drew’s shooting. (She wouldn’t frame Kai, would she?)
In her office, Portia tells Isaiah that Stella made good points about decorating the nursery together, as they all want the baby to be happy, healthy, and secure. Isaiah tells her that if she can accept this, he can too.
Across town, Trina, Kai and Stella already begin planning the nursery, colors and stencils.
At the church, Sidwell says, “What happened here proves that God is not watching! That Sonny Corinthios could stand here in front of Marco’s ashes and try and convince me that he didn’t do what I know he did.” He promises Marco that Sonny will pay, and he will be on his knees in the same agony he is. It won’t bring his son back, but it will even the score.
Finally, as Ric heads out of Sonny’s place, Danny is hiding in the bushes. He overhears them discussing that Sidwell was the reason Britt and Jason were on the piers, and Ric theorizes that Sidwell set Jason up to get him out of the picture and leave Sonny vulnerable.
