Billy was disgusted that Victor would threaten Jack’s life to get him to do his bidding. He thought it was sad to see Victor grasping at straws to save his legacy. Billy called Victor’s bluff and reminded him that he lost his entire empire. Victor was responsible for his own downfall.

Victor told him that the threat was very much real. He said, “Listen very carefully. Your brother’s life is at stake. And I’m not bluffing.” Billy demanded to know what Victor did with Jack. However, Victor claimed he’d only learn that if he successfully found him.

Billy asked if there was anyone else that Victor was willing to take hostage. Victor shrugged and told him he had until the end of the day to put Chancellor back into his hands. As Billy left, Adam emerged from around the corner, having heard the entire thing. He asked his father if it was true that he kidnapped Jack.

Adam was surprised that Victor snatched Jack. Victor didn’t think it should be shocking because he refused to lose his empire without a fight. Adam questioned whether Billy would be willing to hand over the company to get Jack back. What would happen to Jack if Billy didn’t follow through?

Victor informed Adam that even if he believed he was playing too aggressively, he needed to get used to it. This was only the beginning. Adam understood the need to have several plans in motion, but he didn’t want anyone to get hurt. He asked if Jack was in on the plan like Lily, but he wasn’t.

Victor didn’t want to deal with any of it, but he believed he had been wronged. He was determined to regain control of Newman Enterprises by any means necessary. Adam claimed to understand where Victor was coming from, but his father sensed hesitation.

Billy raced over to the Abbott Mansion, and he asked Kyle if he knew where Jack was. Kyle believed his father was away on business in Chicago, but Billy wanted to see proof. He demanded to know which hotel Jack was staying at and whether he and Diane had heard from him.

Kyle didn’t want to answer any more questions until he knew what was going on. Billy took Victor’s threat very seriously. Billy told Kyle and Diane, “Victor kidnapped Jack.” Diane desperately tried to reach her husband, begging him to tell her where he was. Victor’s claim to have abducted Jack appeared to be a highly plausible reality.

Kyle thought the idea of Victor taking a hostage was extreme. Billy explained to Kyle and Diane that Victor had already done so, so it wasn’t out of the realm of possibility. Diane wanted to know what Billy was referring to, and he explained the real reason Phyllis turned on Cane.

Victor kidnapped Lily and the twins to force Cane into submission. Although it wasn’t a fact, and Lily might be in on the plan, nobody could get hold of her. All signs pointed to Victor resorting to these ruthless means to reclaim the keys to his kingdom.

Diane refused to sit around and do nothing, so she planned to confront Victor face-to-face. It didn’t take long before she was at the ranch, begging Victor to provide answers about Jack’s whereabouts. Victor told Kyle to take it up with Billy, who had the means to ensure Jack was returned safely.

Sally once again looked down at her hand and the message Billy scribbled on it. She was more vulnerable than ever as they poured their hearts out to each other. Billy made several promises about the future, and Sally was cautiously optimistic about it all.

Audra let herself into the apartment in the middle of Sally’s daydream. She was surprised that their meeting was taking place at Billy’s. Audra knew that Sally planned to have a final dinner with Billy there, but she questioned if Sally ever made it home.

Sally understood that Audra probably found her easy to manipulate because she went back on what she said regarding Billy. Audra asked what changed, but the answer was simple. Billy. Billy changed. For the first time, he took accountability for everything and actually listened to all of Sally’s concerns.

Audra asked if they were back together, which Sally confirmed. Sally noticed that Audra was holding back her feelings about her and Billy’s reunion. However, as her best friend, she wanted to hear her opinion regardless. Audra didn’t mince words and told Sally that she believed she was making a “huge mistake.”

Audra was thinking about Sally’s well-being. She had invested everything in that relationship, only for Billy to abandon her when Sally needed him the most. Sally didn’t regret any of her decisions. Even before the reconciliation, there was nothing she’d have done any differently.

Audra urged Sally to run for the hills if it was here. However, Sally flipped the script and asked whether she’d say the same thing if it were Nate. Naturally, Sally knew the answer to that, so she apologized for using Nate to prove a point. That didn’t change the validity of her statement, though.

Sally thought Nate was losing out by not giving Audra a second chance. She understood how her reunion looked from the outside. This time, she believed that Billy was committed to making a change. Her guard remained up, but her heart remained open. Sally didn’t want to keep playing it safe in her personal life. Not when she believed in a future with Billy.

Audra had never fully trusted anyone enough to hand over her entire heart. Audra initially was against the idea of Sally and Billy getting back together. However, the longer the conversation went on, she came around to the idea. Audra believed that the pairing made sense, and she wouldn’t stand in Billy’s way.

Billy returned home and apologized for being rude, but he needed Audra to leave so he could speak to Sally in private. Audra didn’t mind, but she threw in a dig about the Spectra-Charles name change on her way out the door. After she was gone, Billy divulged everything to Sally about Victor abducting Jack.

Billy didn’t want to hand Chancellor back to Victor, but the safety of his brother was at stake. Sally asked if Billy truly believed that Victor would hurt Jack. However, he didn’t want to underestimate how deeply Victor’s hate toward Jack burned. Until he received proof that Jack was alright, he wouldn’t hand over anything.

At Crimson Lights, Victoria asked Claire how her recent trip to LA went. Claire revealed that she didn’t go there to have fun. She had an agenda to uncover a secret to hurt them, but she realized that she was becoming her own worst enemy. Claire reminded herself of her Aunt Jordan, so she put a stop to it.

Victoria assured her daughter that she was nothing like her demented aunt. She assumed that Claire was referring to Audra, so she asked what she’d done this time. Claire explained that after everything Audra had done to hurt her, she became obsessed with revenge.

Claire discussed Audra and Holden’s shady past in LA, but despite Holden’s cover story, she always knew there was more to it. Claire needed to know the truth. However, it wasn’t just about protecting herself from Holden. It was about a nagging need to destroy Audra. Claire felt a reminder of the woman that she used to be, and it terrified her.

Victoria understood why Claire would want to destroy Audra. She interfered in her relationship with Kyle, so her feelings were natural. It made her human. Having these emotions didn’t make her a monster like her evil Aunt Jordan.

Victoria asked if Claire caused any lasting harm to Audra, and she had not. That type of restraint separated her from the lifestyle in which she was brought up. Claire appreciated having Victoria as her mother and being part of the Newman family. However, things between Claire and Holden were over.

The episode concluded with Jack waking up, locked in a room, on a boat. Not only was Victor not bluffing, but Jack was seemingly stranded in the middle of nowhere.
