Brady stops to catch up Sarah while dropping Rachel off for therapy — and gets a surprise when he learns Sarah and Xander are about to start therapy, too! He gets a text confirming that Tesoro isn’t Tate’s, then tells Sarah his busted theory.
Sarah cautiously says that if Sophia gave her baby to the firehouse, she did the right thing. (Fully knowing that that’s exactly what she did!) But it doesn’t matter because Brady says the baby isn’t Tate and Sophia’s. The DNA test proves it. Sarah just gapes at him.
Will Johnny and Chanel Believe Holly?
Ari takes stock of her and Holly’s new room — you know, since Holly nearly burned down the last one. Holly’s ready to skip town and leave it all behind. Her new phone is finally set up (since Sophia stole her last one) and she can’t figure out why she’s got so many messages from Johnny.
Johnny meanwhile, has been freaking out, not being able to get a hold of Holly, while Chanel’s ready to claw the teen’s eyes out. This time around, she believes her husband. Then an oblivious Holly calls and Johnny has her come over.
It doesn’t take long for Holly to get to them — in fact, it takes half a scene — and Johnny and Chanel pounce. They demand to see her texts and photos, but she lost all of them. So Johnny shows her the one he got, to Holly’s horror.
She doesn’t remember taking or sending them, but takes ownership, thinking they were meant for Tate. They tell her about the letter, which doesn’t make sense to her either, so she decides to go with the “flight” part of “fight or flight” and runs out.
Can Sophia Convince Tate of Her Lies?
Tate’s about to take a walk while on break at the Pub when Sophia pretends to get a text, then blurts out, “A friend of mine told me that Holly’s seeing an older guy! An older married guy.” Johnny, of course. So convenient, Sophia. Very subtle.
Tate’s so confused. And he figures it’s just a rumor started by someone trying to cause trouble. (You’re so close, buddy!) Then he wonders how Holly found out they kissed, which Sophia blames on Ari. Oops! Tate still feels like she’s hiding something, but no matter how much he tries, Sophia just snaps at him and storms off.
Will Jada Stick With JJ?
Jada summons JJ into her office to thank him during the blackout. And feel him out about Theo. But she gets more than she bargained for when he hands in his resignation! He walks her through the blackout and Jada tells him what she knows from Theo’s end.
JJ isn’t sure he handled the situation the right way, but Jada walks through the formal questions, which he answers to her satisfaction. So she then demands to know why he’s turning his badge in.
He knows he’s got implicit bias like everyone else, but he’s tried to make sure something like shooting Theo never happens again. But Theo’s reaction has him reconsidering if he’s fit to serve.
Are Theo and Ari the Newest Couple?
Out in the square, Theo flashes back to his JJ encounters until Abe pulls his son out of his reverie, worried all that looting made Theo not want to move back. It’s fair, since it’s just more proof that Salem is the most dangerous town in the country.
Abe wants Theo to be happy, whatever form that takes. He leaves and Theo spots Ari struggling with a trash bag full of dry cleaning across the square. She happily accepts his offer of help, and it looks like we’ve got a new love connection! (And now we know why it seems like the show’s made Theo younger.)
She thanks him after with coffee and the two get down to flirting and bonding over growing up here and moving back. As they part with smiles, they finally get to the introductions.
In the Show’s Final Moments
Jada tells JJ he’s a great cop. He should talk to the department psychiatrist and take some days off. But she’s not taking his resignation yet.
Johnny and Chanel reluctantly believe Holly. Something’s fishy between the letter and the photos… Then Johnny realizes since Holly’s old phone was lost in the fire and the photos were sent while she was in the hospital. She couldn’t have done it! (Oof, that took way too long to puzzle out.)
Sarah asks Brady to repeat himself, then flashes back to Sophia’s confession about giving up her baby. She tells Brady she’s got to get back to work, then takes off her stethoscope and coat and heads out. She means business.
Tate apologizes to Sophia and says he’ll drop the baby stuff. Naturally, Holly shows up outside the Pub just in time to see Tate stroking Sophia’s arm. So she calls Nicole and says she wants to come live with her! “I never want to come back to Salem, ever again.” (What does this mean for Holly… and Nicole??)
On the next Days of Our Lives, Sarah comes to a stunning revelation. (And we’re guessing Sophia’s in a heap of trouble!)
