It’s Curtains for Young & Restless’ Phyllis… Unless [Spoiler] Can Pull Off a Miracle
Coming as a surprise to absolutely no one, Young & Restless’ Victor has Phyllis right where he wants her… and there’s only one person with even a passing hope of helping her now.
Victor believes he’s poised to get his company back any day now, having cornered the tigress that is Phyllis with a threat to have her charged with illegal corporate shenanigans if she doesn’t cough up Newman Enterprises post-haste. Phyllis, being her own worst enemy, is well-aware that she’s in trouble, but appears determined to dig her heels in… even if it means going another round with lifelong nemesis, The Bug, in court.
Given that all the former executives are ready to testify against her, the fake emails are damning, Billy and Cane are hardly likely to do anything to keep her from suffering the consequences of her own actions, and Victoria and Victor are cozying up to Christine, Phyllis’ goose would seem to be well and truly cooked. Unless…
There is a wild card in this situation, and boy-oh-boy is he caught between a rock and hard place. We’re talking about Michael Baldwin, of course. Victor came right out and told him that he was railroading Phyllis into giving the company back, so, theoretically, he could go to Christine, who he recommended for the D.A. job, and tell her she’s being set up by the Newmans. That may or may not change things considering her feelings about Red.
Which is why we’re guessing he may be forced to go another route to save Phyllis… by representing her in court if she’s brought up on charges. Sorry, Christine, but you’re not likey to win if that happens. That said, it puts Michael in the unenviable position of having to go against Victor… never a good idea.
Best case scenario for Michael, he reps Phyllis and throws enough doubt on Christine’s case that Red can plead out if she hands back the company. After all, we can all see that Phyllis has never dealt with her trauma from being held captive by Martin Laurent. Might Baldwin be able to cut her a plea deal like Mariah’s? It all remains to be seen!
