A Stunned Tessa Identifies Mariah’s Scarf — and Sharon Lays Into Phyllis

Nick hobbles into the Club and glares at Phyllis, who quips that he looks better than the last time she saw him. She insists she cares about him, but he doesn’t think she gives a damn about him or his family.

Voices are raised as they get into it. Phyllis rants that Victor brought this on himself. He’s ruined lives, including hers. She’s sleeping just fine. Nick calls her selfish, callous and heartless. That’s just an honest observation about someone he used to love.

Sharon walks in as Nick and Phyllis get into it about how Summer will react. When she’s heard enough, she intervenes. Phyllis quickly realizes she’s on Nick’s side. Sharon tells her this is no different than what Martin did to them, only now she’s playing God with peoples’ lives. Phyllis is outraged and invites Sharon to no longer be her friend. Sharon treasured their new bond, but now it’s completely out the window!

Phyllis resents the comparison to Martin Laurent. Sharon hated making the comparison, but she’s being selfish. Phyllis questions Sharon not seeing that Victor brought this on himself. “This conversation is boring.”

Nick warns she won’t come back from this with him or with Summer, who has made it clear she won’t forgive her. What is the point of achieving her dreams if she loses everyone who gives a damn about her?

They bicker about whether Nick and Sharon genuinely cared about Phyllis. Nick fumes that she crossed a line with him and Summer, and Daniel is sure to follow. Phyllis wants him out of her face. Nick fears she’ll become wildly successful… and completely alone.

Billy’s News

Billy arrives on the Cane train, where Ashby updates him that Newman has been transferred into his name. Contracts are being drawn up for him to sign for Chancellor. Billy is less than thrilled. Cane reminds him he got everything he’s been waiting for. Billy tells him his mother’s a relapse and is in pretty bad shape.

Tearing up a bit, Billy tells Cane that Jill was weak on the phone and had trouble getting her breath. Her heart is weakening. She’s coughing and having a hard time breathing. Snapper’s looking after her. Cane is glad to hear that and pulls out his phone to call her. Billy stops him. Jill doesn’t know what’s going on and he doesn’t want her to know. It could make everything worse.

Cane agrees with Billy and worries about keeping the news from her. Billy doesn’t think that will be possible for long. It would be better if this never happened. Getting snarky, Cane asks if he’s suggesting that he just return everything to Victor and his family.

Billy wouldn’t let him do that, but they should hold off on a public announcement. Cane’s confused… he turned his back on his mother. Billy’s shrugs. He thought he was done, but hearing her on the phone made him want to get on a plane. Cane asks, “What’s stopping you?”

Billy says Jill told him not to as she was afraid they’d argue and it would make things worse. Cane guesses that would have been hard to hear. Billy loves his mother. Cane will hold off on the announcement. Taking another guess, he supposes Sally’s not on board with this.

Billy doesn’t want his advice. Cane shrugs that he’s in no place to give it considering he messed up everything with Lily. Maybe they’re destined to spend the rest of their lives alone.

Dom’s Disappearance

At the Chancellor mansion, Abby cries into her waffles as Devon watches. She croaks that Dom wanted waffles today. She starts sobbing out her fears as her husband urges her to stay positive. “He is going to come home. I promise you that.”

Abby crabs about the security cameras not catching anything except the person leading Dom off of the property. They don’t know if it was a man or a woman, but Dom wasn’t scared. Abby asks, “Is it possible that someone we know took our son?”

In the motel room, Mariah tells Dom they have to leave there and go to their next hiding spot. He enthuses, “Cool!” and they high-five. She impresses upon him how important it is that they don’t get caught. He agrees to run really fast to the car, but suggests she give his mom and dad a hint so it’s not too hard to find him.

Abby and Devon arrive at Crimson Lights, where they run into Tessa and Daniel, who asks where their “little man” is at. They quickly realize something is very wrong. Abby blurts that someone took their little boy and they have no idea where he is!

The foursome sits down and Devons shows them the photo of the scarf they found in their living room. Tessa gawps, “Oh my God.” Abby frowns, “Is it the scarf? Do you recognize it?”

Gulping water, Tessa grimaces and agonizes before saying she gave it to Mariah for Christmas. They wonder if she took Dominic without telling them. Why would she do that? It makes no sense!

Back at the motel, Mariah claims she texted Dom’s mom and dad a hint and then changes the subject to playing I Spy in the car… they’ve a long drive ahead of them. When she sends him into the bathroom, she mutters, “Where the hell are you, Ian? I’m running out of ideas here!”

At the coffee shop, Abby has unsuccessfully tried to reach Mariah. Tessa explains that her estranged wife hasn’t been herself for a long time. She went to a clinic and checked herself out but didn’t come home. The tracking app showed her in Florida. She could have given someone else the scarf. Abby points out it’s hard to explain the scarf getting from the clinic in Boston to Genoa City if it wasn’t Mariah.

In the motel, Mariah puts Dom’s coat on him and reminds him that no one can see them. They have to go quietly and keep their heads down. She counts to three and they dash outside.

At Crimson Lights, Devon asks to see Tessa’s family tracking app. She does, but she turned it off. Tessa checks and says she’s still in Florida. Devon takes a call and tells Abby the cops spotted a kid that matched Dom’s description leaving a motel with a woman. They take off.

In the car, Mariah and Dom play I Spy as she heads out of town. Suddenly, Dom says, “I spy with my little eye, something that is black.” It’s a police car behind them. When it veers off, Mariah cries.

Back at the motel, an officer shows Devon and Abby that they found Dom’s mitten. They look at the security footage and Devon identifies his son and the person with him: Mariah Copeland.

The Final Scenes

Billy reminds Cane he’s not alone, he’s got Phyllis. Cane grunts, “That’s not love.” The view from Newman Tower will fill his heart. Billy smirks, “The view from Chancellor’s not bad either.” It’s a good thing they love their work.

At the Club, Nick tells Phyllis they are definitely finished and limps off to a table with Sharon. Phyllis yanks out her phone and calls Summer, but she doesn’t pick up. She gets a text from her daughter that says, “Don’t call me again.”

Abby and Devon arrive at home and agonize about why Mariah would take Dom. Devon is sure they won’t get far. He worries she’s snapped and thinks Dom is her real kid. Abby decides to call her dad for private resources.

At Crimson Lights, Tessa frets to Daniel. Why did Mariah do this? Why is she putting Devon and Abby through hell? “What is she thinking?!”

In the car, Mariah and Dom carry on with I Spy, with the little guy sure she won’t be able to guess this one. “I spy something blue.”
