Obrecht and Dante Both Have Warnings for Josslyn — and Ethan Reveals the Shocking Reason He’s Back

Days Ethan sits in Sonny's office looking contemplative

Carly gets an earful while bringing food to Valentin about her daughter’s little visit. He tells her about what Joss told him about the stuff she found at Wyndemere and how they’re linked to Faison and Anna. He’s sure now that Cullum’s responsible for Anna’s breakdown!

She was getting too close and killing Anna would draw too much attention. Carly’s not sure it was manufactured, but she asks how to help. Valentin wants to talk to Anna directly. Which opens up a can of worms.

What Does Obrecht Know?

Obrecht insists Nathan would have nothing to do with Faison. “My son is home, just as he should be.” He’s a hero, who survived his own father’s attempted murder. “Besmirch my son for your own amusement and you will live to regret it.”

Then she warns Joss that if someone is emulating Faison, asking questions will be very dangerous.

Why Is Ethan Back?

Lucy barges in on Ethan and Sonny’s meeting, shocked — and delighted — to find Luke’s son back in town. He grabs coffee while Lucy and Sonny have a chat about Sidwell. Lucy needs to make her move with him before Ava, and he just tells her to contact him if she’s in any danger.

When Ethan comes back, Sonny warns him he may need to save Lucy from herself. He fills Ethan in on everything and Ethan makes a shocking suggestion: “Just eliminate the guy.” Sonny’s as surprised as we are that Ethan’s willing to cross that line! That’s what he’s there to do after Sidwell tried to kill Holly. Aha! The only thing stopping him is how clear it is that there’s a reason Sonny wants to keep him alive.

Is Rocco Safe?

Dante brings Rocco into the hospital for community service, then tries getting some more info about Britt, couching it in concern for how she’s doing. Britt gives him the cold shoulder and walks off.

Back in his room, Cullum commends Liz on the excellent care he’s getting, “despite sharing a child with the man who shot me.” He breaks out all the info he knows about Jake, where he is, and how close Liz and Jason are. Then he asks if she was working the night he was shot, and tries digging for Jason dirt. Liz knows nothing, has seen nothing, and is done with Cullum. She leaves, catches her breath and runs into Dante. She tells him what happened and thinks Cullum’s looking for answers. Dante’s not sure what to think — the WSB yanked Jason off before the cops could do anything.

Cullum, meanwhile, gets a very interesting call, which Rocco witnesses while making his round — only to be yanked away by a frantic Britt. “I need you to listen! Your life is riding on this, do you understand?!” Liz spots Britt, yelling at Rocco, hand clamped on his arm and pulls her away.

Dante Comes Clean to Josslyn

Josslyn’s waiting for Dante at his office to get info from him about the Jason investigation. But Dante’s hands are tied. The WSB has taken it all away from them. Besides, he tells Joss, “You know more about the WSB than I would because you are currently in it.” Oop! Dante tells Josslyn how long he’s known, then demands answers of his own.

He knows Cullum’s shooting is… off. But Josslyn insists she’s been deactivated and doesn’t believe anything she’s being told by the WSB. Since she’s useless to him, Dante tells her to leave; and next time she wants something, she needs to have something useful to trade. “Fine.” As soon as she’s gone, Dante calls one of his officers to reopen the investigation.

James Asks An Uncomfortable Question

“Nathan” and James have a brief, uncomfortable run in with Sidwell before grabbing food, but he’s just out to meet with Lucy, who’s desperate to let him know how much she prioritizes him. She’s back in town and she’s there for him. Maybe even… on his yacht for the 4th of July Regatta? Sidwell tells her she’s welcome aboard his yacht any time she pleases. And they can invite Ava!

Obrecht meets with “Nathan” and James for dessert. She gives her grandson a gift from New Zealand, then gives her son a welcome home hug. He knows something’s up, but she promises everything is fine. She just wants him happy, and it’s clear him and James both are. They needed each other. “Now you have your son, James has his father. In the end, that’s all that matters.”

James talks a bit about his sisters always getting what they want. He wishes he had a brother. And asks his daddy if he wishes he had one, too. A good brother! Cassius and Obrecht both look uncomfortable!

In the Show’s Final Moments

Liz sends Rocco off and demands to know what Britt was thinking. “You have no right to treat him like that!” “I did it because I had to!!” She’s trying to do the right thing and push Rocco out of her life, just please, please help her keep him away.

Sonny assures Ethan he has his reasons for not wanting Sidwell dead. Yet. Ethan’s ready and waiting as soon as that changes.

Carly lays into Valentin for calling Anna again, pretending to Kevin, because the WSB was surely listening. Cullum calls Sidwell to tell him about “Kevin” calling Anna. Except it originated in Port Charles, not Ireland, where he is. Find who called her!
