Sally Walks Out On Billy — and Matt Clark Ends Up In the Trunk of [Spoiler’s] Car

At Crimson Lights, Sally can’t believe Cane offered Chancellor to Billy. He wants to talk at home. Sally rails that they just started a media company… is he bailing on her already?! She feels ridiculous for believing him. Billy protests that he just found this out.

Sally’s sure he’s been going behind her back and knew he’d be meeting Cane when he left her a note saying he’d gone for a run. She declares he’s been lying to her, and himself, about what they’re really doing together.

Diane’s Probe

At Society, Michael’s on the phone with Victor, who confirms Cane and Phyllis were behind the attack on Newman. Diane arrives and asks the lawyer for an update on Victor’s plan to attack Jabot. Michael doesn’t think that will happen anytime soon… Victor has bigger problems at the moment.

They bicker when Michael refuses to divulge what’s going on with Victor. Diane needs proof that Jabot isn’t under threat. Whispering, “You didn’t hear this from me,” he confides that the AI program turned on its host. Diane says Jack suspected as much and tells him about their visit to the ranch with Matt Clark.

Diane’s sure that Victor’s panicking right now given Arabesque was decimated in a matter of days by the AI. She sneers that he’s getting exactly what he deserves. Michael defends his boss and Diane’s astounded. She’s sure this will only whet Victor’s appetite for revenge.

Diane’s convinced that it’s Cane that has reciprocated against Victor. Michael muses, “That’s assuming that Cane was working alone.” Diane realizes that Phyllis is involved. Victor will be out for her blood too. This makes her… thrilled.

Nick Unhinged

At the Abbott house, Kyle confirms to Jack that Jabot is in the clear. They go over Victor being rattled by the text he got and sending them away with Matt Clark in tow. Jack reports that Diane’s meeting Michael to try and get info on what’s going on. Talk turns to Claire and Kyle says he’s been too focused on Jabot to think about her.

As they’re discussing putting Jabot back online, Nick shows up. Jack asks why he’s out of the hospital. Nick glowers, “I’m saving my family.”

Jack maneuvers Nick into a chair and he declares he’s there for Matt Clark. Jack asks if he’s responsible for Noah’s accident. Nick explains that it’s a long story. Jack knows it’s not their only crisis at the moment. Nick grits that he just needs to know that Matt is secured. He also wants them to hand him over… right now.

Kyle points out Matt is the only leverage they have against Victor and his threats. They gave him until morning to make a decision. Nick worries that Matt isn’t locked up as they believe. Jack won’t hand him over until he has the AI. Nick insists that Victor isn’t thinking about Jabot… it’s the last thing on his mind.

Jack and Nick butt heads over Victor threatening Jabot. The Abbotts probe to find out what’s going down with Newman. They speculate about Cane and Phyllis turning the AI program against Newman.

Nick starts hollering about Matt Clark. He’s a danger to people they care about like Nikki and Claire… even Harrison. Jack says Victor can put an end to this by taking their deal. Nick warns Matt is amazing at escaping… they’re endangering people! “I’m the one who’s going to put an end to this monster for good!” he rages.

Heated arguing ensues over whether or not the Abbotts are capable of keeping Matt Clark contained. Nick’s pain and rage increase until Jack sends Kyle for some ibuprofen. Nick yells, “I don’t need that!” He grits, “Just give him to me.” If they hand him over, he’ll guarantee there will be no attacks against Jabot.

Here We Go Again

At home, Billy insists to Sally that he hasn’t accepted Cane’s offer. He needed to talk to her first. When Sally asks, Billy confirms Ashby has attacked Newman Enterprises. Sally doesn’t buy his claim that Cane’s offering him Chancellor out of the goodness of his heart.

Billy assures her he’s taking this with a grain of salt. It’s hypothetical at this point. Sally needs to know right now what he plans to do if this offer is legit. “You’re going to take it, aren’t you?”

Billy wants to know what Sally thinks. She says he already does. He assures her she won’t be left out in the cold. Sally’s concern is they agreed he needs to leave these battles behind for good. Billy argues that Victor will always gun for him whether he has Chancellor or not. The conflict is unavoidable!

Next, Billy tries convincing her that this could be the best thing for both of them… they’ll be the power couple of Genoa City. It goes over about as well as you’d guess. She tells him this would be about him getting payback again… against his mother. They argue about why she financed Abbott Communications.

Sally can’t believe he thinks Cane will hand him Chancellor with no conditions. Billy insists if she nixes this entirely, he’ll hear her. Sally has a gut feeling that if he accepts this offer, he’ll be making the biggest mistake he’s ever made. As they argue about how Jill would react, Sally realizes Billy’s going to do what he’s going to do and everyone else can go straight to hell.

Caught In the Act

Outside Sharon’s house, Nick limps up to a box and puts some rope and other items into a bag. He brings it into the quiet house, where he nabs some tea towels from a drawer and heads back out. Noah comes down the stairs and calls, “Hello? Who’s there?” He grabs his jacket and leaves.

Noah catches up with Nick as he opens the trunk of his car. Matt Clark is tied up and unconscious inside. He rails at his dad for leaving he hospital. Nick tells him to leave. Noah asks, “Is he dead?”

The Final Scenes

At their home, Sally decides Billy’s right… they should keep business and personal separate. She has a media company and needs to know if he’s leaving her high and dry. Sally’s sure he made up his mind the second Cane made he offer. It hurts her that her opinion doesn’t matter. Grabbing her things, she informs him if he takes the offer, she won’t be happy.

At the Abbott house, Jack tells Kyle he trusts Nick, who made a compelling argument for handing Matt Clark over to him. He’s the only person who deserves to end this. Diane comes in as Jack’s saying he suspects Newman is under attack. She can confirm Victor is fighting to save his legacy.

Given Michael’s her source, Jack warns they can’t afford to let their guard down. Diane wants to get Jabot back online. Jack assures her they will… when it’s safe.

Outside Sharon’s, Noah and Nick argue heatedly. Noah wants to turn Matt over to the GCPD. Nick says no. Noah demands to know what his father plans to do with Matt Clark.
