Oh No! *Another* Days of Our Lives Legacy Character Brought Back Just to Die?!

We’ve always known that Days of Our Lives’ Kristen was capable of killing. If nothing else, she is a DiMera. But we didn’t know just how far she’d go until she manipulated Sophia into trying to kill Johnny, then cracked then cracked the teen’s head in with a rock and dumped her in the river.
Sophia was barely more than a kid — and one with serious mental problems to boot — and Johnny was Kristen’s own nephew. Worse, she wanted it done only to hurt EJ! Johnny, of course, survived, and Kristen seemed to move on to just plotting EJ’s death directly. At least, that’s what she tried to get Xander to do!
And now, she seems to feel bad enough for Johnny after learning about Chanel’s cancer, she’d rather he cut EJ out of his life and hurt his dad that way instead of, well, killing him. Well, that and EJ did warn Kristen that if anything happened to his son, she would pay.
But by the end of Thursday’s episode, it was clear Kristen’s not done targeting EJ’s loved ones — not by a long shot! When she called someone and referred to herself as “Aunt Kristen,” we were surprised enough to have to stop for a moment and wonder: Who the heck did she just phone?
And apparently, so was her niece! By the time we realized it had to be Sydney, Kristen was already addressing how weird her phone call was with Sami and EJ’s daughter! We pretty much knew Sydney was coming back to Salem. She’d been talked about enough that it seemed like a given, and it was all-but confirmed when EJ said she’d likely be visiting once school was done.
But now we’re half a mind to reach out to her and yell: “Don’t come!” Because Kristen definitely has something nefarious up her sleeve. If killing Johnny’s out, is killing his sister in? Kristen’s already proved to us that neither youth, nor family ties are a barrier to her pulling the trigger.
Would she really go there, though, especially now that EJ’s suspicious of her? If he decided that anything happening to Johnny would be Kristen’s fault, surely he’d think the same if Sydney died.
Maybe Kristen isn’t planning on killing Sydney, but she’s got something up her sleeve and it’s not good. Let’s just hope Sami and EJ’s daughter isn’t finally coming to Salem, only to be traumatized and chased out of town by her aunt as soon as she’s back. Or worse.
