At Crimson Lights, Holden tells Claire that he’s in a good mood because Cane is a match for Malcolm. They’ve already started the pre-transplant treatment, which will take a week, and then Cane will fly out. Holden will go to New York for the surgery. Claire hedges, “I’ve never been,” noting that they’re great travel companions.

They banter as Claire assures him that she was joking and wouldn’t want to impose. Holden actually wouldn’t mind the company and support. He apologizes for his past coming between them and officially invites her.

After more banter, they hold a serious talk about Holden getting to know his new family. Claire understands his fears. Feeling connected, he invites her to New York officially. He misses spending time with her and teases that he’s the best tour guide, makes her laugh and pays for everything. They grin at each other across the table, but Claire brings up Audra. She still feels there is more to their story. Holden has déjà vu.

Panic In Genoa City

At the Club, Lily flashes to her hug with Cane. He appears with a coffee she loved in the past designed to invoke memories of their old family days. Talk turns to Malcolm and Lily reports that he’s started his chemo treatments. Cane says everything looks good on his end. When he gets word, he’ll be ready. They can fly together.

Lily no sooner allows herself to be talked into traveling together, when Christine arrives with an officer and arrests Cane for corporate sabotage, which we didn’t even know was a thing. Cane rails about her doing this in public. He was the victim… Victor decimated his company. Christine basically replies, “But the emails…” Lily declares that this arrest cannot happen.

Meanwhile, at Summers Conglomerate, Phyllis is discussing spin with the head of PR by phone when Billy walks in, complaining about being drawn into her mess. He demands to know if the emails are legitimate and how stupid could she be to let this happen.

Phyllis says he has nothing to worry about as none of the emails came from him. They’re fake. She’d never do something so stupid. Everything that Christine has on her are fabricated. Billy asks who did it. She replies, “Who do you think did it? Victor.”

Billy told Victoria he didn’t believe the emails were legitimate. She held the party line. Phyllis sighs. She doubts that Christine will look into the legitimacy. Billy hopes she fights this and wins, but he can’t go down for this. Phyllis assures him there’s nothing to implicate him. Billy asks if they’ve gotten to Cane yet.

At that very moment at the Club, Christine and the officer is leading Cane toward the door in cuffs. She warns he won’t be able to leave the state, which sends Lily over the edge, “Oh my God, I can’t believe this is happening!’ Cane promises he’ll get to New York.

Nate walks in and Lily exclaims that Cane was just arrested, “Something about Phyllis and stealing Newman Enterprises.” She explodes that Malcolm could be ready for Cane, his donor, in as little as a week, but Christine said he may not be able to leave the state. “Where does that leave us?! What do we do?!”

Back in Phyllis’ office, Billy tells her that he can’t get into the middle of this fight given he’s starting a new chapter. “Sally’s pregnant.” Phyllis groans. Billy can’t let anything get in the way of being there for her. Phyllis hedges, “Congratulations, I guess?”

Billy’s surprised to hear that Michael’s taking her case. The contracts were ironclad when she took over. Billy warns he’ll only go so far against Victor. Michael storms in and suggests Billy focus on his own potential involvement and not how he’ll handle Phyllis’ case.

Michael wants to speak to Phyllis alone, so Billy warns he won’t be thrown under the bus… he knows enough to be dangerous. After he exits, Michael tells Phyllis that Cane’s been arrested. Phyllis can’t believe Victor’s getting away with this. Michael tells her to keep her chin up. She asks how they’ll beat this.

Back at the Club, Lily’s still panicking. Nate tells her Cane can do the donation in Genoa City if necessary. Lily argues that if he’s denied bail he can’t be a donor at all. Nate urges her to explain the situation to Christine and they embrace.

Lily makes a call and tells Nate that Christine is on her way. Nate complains about chaos following Cane wherever he goes, and mutters about his agenda. Lily only cares that he’s a match and can save Malcolm. Chris appears and Lily wants to know how the charges will affect Cane’s freedom.

At home, Billy updates Sally that Phyllis and Cane have both been arrested. Sally hopes Christine can’t charge him with anything. Billy figures going after him too would have been too big risk for Victor. He’s safe… for now.

The Final Scenes

At the Club, Christine tells Lily and Nate she’s confident that her evidence proves Cane and Phyllis colluded to steal Newman. Lily pleads, “I have a favor. A big one.” She explains that Malcolm has aplastic anemia and the situation. Cane is the donor and the only match they could find. He needs to be able to leave town! Christine doesn’t know if it’s possible. Lily pleads with her to make this happen.

At Crimson Lights, Claire tells Holden she would never try and manipulate him into telling her what happened with him and Audra in L.A., and we can’t tell if she’s serious. Holden, inching closer, says he’ll tell her. “I mean it this time.” He’s willing to take the chance.

At Billy’s place, Sally worries that Cane and Phyllis will try and bring him down with them if they need to cut a deal. Billy was very clear to Phyllis and Michael not to use him. He’s in a better position than she is to negotiate. Sally’s still unsettled. He assures her this isn’t their problem.

In Phyllis’ office, she suggests they pin this on Cane. Michael thinks they should focus on providing her with reasonable doubt to her guilt. She points out he heard Victor talk about those emails. Michael says proof is what’s important. Phyllis warns her about his loyalty. She doesn’t want to hear him say she stole this company again!
