Laura, Lucas and Sonny Plan to Bring Sidwell Down — Plus, Obrecht’s Abducted!
Brook Lynn and Chase meet with Alexis in her office, and the lawyer says she found Phoebe’s father, who is open to them adopting her. The condition? He wants the adoption closed, the records sealed, and they and Phoebe can never know him.
Brook Lynn is unsure given her own history with Gio, and she’d liked to be able to give Phoebe answers one day about her mother and father. Alexis explains the father has made clear this is non-negotiable, so they agree to it.
What Does Ethan Want From Ava?
Ethan finds Ava at The Metro Court Gardens, and apologizes for their last meeting, saying he admired how she kept her cool that night. Ava says this pathetic attempt at flattery isn’t going to make her forget he’s Phoebe’s father, and she assumes he wants her to keep her mouth shut.
Obrecht Connects the Dots
At Willow’s, she and Nina work on Drew’s physical therapy. Obrecht arrives and demands to know if Britt came to either of them to help her flee, but the women haven’t heard from her. Obrecht looks at Drew and says they should put sunglasses on him, as he’s been blinking S.O.S since she walked in.
The women try to play it off, but Obrecht can’t help but notice Drew is showing no sign of a stroke, which happened at such a convenient time for Willow. She doesn’t care what scheme they are up to; just do it better. She must focus on finding Britt.
Obrecht sits down and talks with Nina alone, worrying that her daughter’s Huntington’s symptoms could return. Meanwhile, Willow calls Chase to tell him that the paperwork she filed with social services for their fostering Phoebe came through, and she’ll bring it to him.
Willow takes off, and Obrecht says Nina’s daughter is far too focused on her ex-husband and not the one she has at home. Nina fills her in on Willow wanting to hire Chase as her Chief of Staff, and she is worried about Willow getting her heart broken. Obrect calls Willow is a viper, and notes that if she wants Chase, she’ll find a way to get him.
Brook Lynn Hatches a Plan
Back at Alexis’ office, Chase relays Willow’s news, prompting Brook Lynn to comment, “Willow’s always there when you need her.” She excuses herself and texts someone that she needs to see them now. She returns, and Alexis says the paperwork will help expedite the adoption papers. Brook Lynn suddenly claims there is a Deception crisis and she has to go. Chase says he’ll see her at home.
Willow soon arrives with the papers, learns Chase’s good news, and hugs him. She calls Alexis a miracle worker twice over now.
Back at the restaurant, Lucy grabs a table, and Brook Lynn arrives to meet her. Brook Lynn says this must stay between them. She tells her someone is after her husband and she needs Lucy’s help to stop them.
Will Ava Keep Quiet?
Meanwhile, Ethan tells Ava that he is giving up his child in a closed adoption, and he has a relationship with Tracy that he doesn’t want complicated by the fact he’s the girl’s father. Ava might believe he was so altruistic if he wasn’t Holly and Luke’s son. She thinks this is a con and he’s setting them up to swoop in right before the adoption is finalized and demand money.
Are Cullum and Sidwell’s Plans Toast?
At Wyndemere, Cullum speaks with Sidwell, who hasn’t located Britt as he’s been distracted trying to nail the bastard who murdered their son. Ross is sorry about Pascal and his son, but they have to complete this project. For that, Ross says they need a brilliant mind.
Sidwell recalls he was about to tell him who he had in mind to replace Britt when the cops arrived. So, who is it?
Lucas Comes Through!
Lucas arrives at Sonny’s warehouse and has the photos and negatives. Sonny and Laura are thrilled, but then Laura remembers Sidwell put her DNA on the gun he used to kill Dalton. Sonny says it won’t matter as they’ll never find Dalton’s body to connect the two. Laura hugs Lucas and Sonny, but it’s not over for Lucas, and he says for them either.
Lucas says Sidwell still hasn’t paid and is still a free man. Laura says she can bring this guy to justice now with her political resources. Sonny points out it isn’t as simple as calling the police, but Lucas says, “What if it is?” He says Jenz is a killer and will kill again, so they need to catch him in the act. He thinks Jenz’ safe is the key.
Lucas departs, and Laura worries to Sonny that this might not be over as Sidwell is deadly and calculating. She’s afraid he’ll put the pieces together and try to take them down again.
Meanwhile, Lucas heads back to Wyndemere and opens Jenz’ safe…
In The Show’s Final Moments
Chase tells Alexis and Willow he’s grateful to both of them, but Willow says she couldn’t have done this for Chase without Alexis’ legal defense of her. Plus, Chase fought for her, and his faith in her means everything. Alexis is clearly disgusted.
Brook Lynn tells Lucy about Willow. Lucy says she’s going to have to outmaneuver her, as Chase is clearly blind to her games. That’s why Brook Lynn came to her, and Lucy notes that in the world of adultery, she is the master, and now Brook Lynn is her apprentice!
Ethan tells Ava he’s a mercenary, not a monster. He loves money, but he can also give his daughter what he never had while growing up in an orphanage. He promised Delilah that her child will have a good life. Is it so much to ask that she keep quiet? Ava agrees to keep her mouth shut, but her silence won’t come cheap.
Sonny and Laura burn the evidence against them. Sonny says Lucas is taking another big chance, and it’s up to them to see this through. Laura knows what she needs to do, and she can’t wait to do it!
Sidwell walks in on Lucas, who is no longer fiddling with the safe, and asks if there is something he can help him with.
Finally, Obrecht is on the phone with someone talking about Britt. She gets in her car when she’s nabbed by Cullum, who is in the back seat.
On the next episode of General Hospital, Obrecht is thrown in the room with Joss, Laura and Sonny are prepared to end their nightmare together, and Kristina goes to Lucas with her surprising news.
