There’s no doubt about it. Michael’s been through the ringer and back on General Hospital. There’s Willow’s affair with his uncle, his own affair with Sasha, the explosion that burned him so badly, he had to spend months in a hospital overseas recovering. And that doesn’t even touch on what he’s been through over the years! And now, Sasha’s left Port Charles with Daisy, going to live with her dad for her daughter’s safety.

Michael understands, but that doesn’t mean he’s happy about losing Sasha. But to be clear, it’s not that Michael’s angry at her, Rory Gibson explains to Michael Fairman in their latest interview. He’s just kind of crushed! As far as Gibson’s concerned, Michael’s very much been falling back in love with Sasha. Plus, there’s Daisy. As he tells Fairman from Michael’s perspective, “I’ve gone through so much in my life and then this huge fire happens that almost takes me out of the game completely. I come back with kind of a new perspective on life.” Now that he’s back, he’s taking charge of things. He’s taking control of his life.

While Gibson admits that Michael has been keeping Sasha at a bit of a distance since his return, “those walls were kind of coming down more and more and more. In my mind, I was like, ‘We’re getting to this place.’” And it was a good place. It was somewhere, Gibson explains, where Michael could have had this “loving, perfect family again.” He and Sasha could have had everything that Michael lost with Willow.

But now Sasha’s leaving and, as far as Michael’s portrayer is concerned, “it’s the most devastating thing that could be happening right now.” Michael’s facing loss all over again and, “I think he’s filled with a lot of frustration and sadness and and honestly, a lot of rage, too. He’s not happy right now. He’s very angry.”

Willow and Drew may want to watch out for that last part. Because he doesn’t yet know that Willow’s been gaslighting him and Sasha. He doesn’t know that Drew’s about to try framing him as a drug user who’s unfit to be a parent. When Michael finds out… Well, he’s not going to be in a good place after losing Sasha, which means those two could be in big trouble. And if Michael gets wind of what Curtis has in mind for Drew, he’s just about guaranteed to want in — in the most painful way possible!

“Michael is not one to be pushed around,” Gibson teases to Fairman, “and he’s not one to be played with. So, buckle up, OK?”
