The Young and the Restless Monday, June 22 Update: Jack Grills Dr. Markham, Claire’s Trap Flops

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Monday, June 22, indicate that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will put Dr. Laurence Markham (Jere Burns) through an interrogation while Claire Newman’s (Hayley Erin) plan fails and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) faces her worst nightmare.

At Dr. Markham’s house, Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) will try plenty of password combinations, but she won’t be able to get into the locked phone she found.

After Dr. Markham returns from a run, Diane will hope that maybe she can go with him next time.

Dr. Markham will reject that suggestion since Diane might flee, but he’ll offer up the basement gym anytime she likes.

Diane will end up asking Dr. Markham what his astrological sign is, so he’ll mention that his birthday is June 9.

Once Diane learns Dr. Markham is a Gemini, she’ll play up the thing about twins and ultimately suggest maybe they were meant to cross paths.

Dr. Markham will be open to starting sessions with Diane in his home, but he’ll have to leave for another appointment.

Diane will try more passcode combos involving Dr. Markham’s birth once he’s gone, but the phone will remain locked.

At the Abbott mansion, Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) will claim she’s arranged for Jack to meet with Diane’s doctor, but then Dr. Markham will arrive.

Dr. Markham will claim Diane’s real doctor was unavailable and sent him instead.

Despite Jack’s attempts to interrogate him, Dr. Markham will act like everything is confidential and will suggest visiting Diane would be detrimental.

Besides, Dr. Markham will lie that Diane doesn’t want Jack to know where she’s staying or see her.

Jack will quiz Dr. Markham about Patty’s mental state next, so Dr. Markham will insist Patty is as sane as he is.

That won’t be much of an answer as far as Jack’s concerned!

Nevertheless, Dr. Markham will play up how Patty was able to recognize her mistakes and show remorse, so that was supposedly the turning point that led to her rehabilitation and release.

On Monday’s Y&R episode, Patty will push Jack to see her as wife material and suggest his love story with Diane was never real.

At one point, Jack will manage to send Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) a secret text so that he can follow Dr. Markham and see if the trail leads to Diane.

As for Diane, she’ll realize that if she can’t escape or call for help, she’ll have to keep buttering up Dr. Markham and use him as her way out.

Diane will indeed flatter Dr. Marham again later and act excited over his help to get past her trauma.

Meanwhile, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will join Nikki for her doctor’s visit, which will lead to a troubling development thanks to an MRI.

Nikki will learn she has a brain mass that’s pressing on her optic nerve.

That’s a problem since letting the mass grow even further could result in total blindness.

The best plan is to remove it, but the procedure itself is risky and could cost Nikki her sight anyway.

After Nikki’s doctor says they’ll schedule a follow-up visit to discuss next steps, Victoria will take Nikki back to her GCAC suite.

Victoria will push for more opinions, including one from Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), but Nikki will already be spinning out over the possibility of complete blindness.

Nikki will eventually find her strength and agree with Victoria about getting through this one day at a time, but she’ll be adamant that Victor can’t hear about her diagnosis.

Over with Claire, she’ll invite Victor to brunch at the athletic club and try to convince Nikki to come without mentioning Victor’s going to be there.

Nikki will turn down the invitation to rest in her room, so Claire’s plan to bring her grandparents together will flop.

Victor will suspect that Claire was trying to play matchmaker and will guess Nikki made that assumption, too.

Although Victor will think that’s why Nikki didn’t show up, Claire will admit it’s because Nikki’s dealing with headaches and blurred vision instead.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Claire will raise Victor’s concerns about Nikki’s medical woes, so stay tuned.
