Time Is Running Out For Eva — Plus, Dani Confesses to [Spoiler]
While awaiting word on Eva, Izaiah tells Leslie that he wasn’t tested as a donor because he’s the wrong blood type. Soon, Eva is rolled into the hospital room, unconscious and on a ventilator. Martin wants desperately to leave the hospital, but before he and Smitty exit they run into Ted and Kat, learning about Eva’s need of a liver transplant. The doctor informs the gathered group that Ted is not a viable donor. Leslie tells Izaiah she plans to give part of her liver to Eva. Martin and Smitty go to be tested next.
As one person after another is eliminated as a donor, Kat realizes she might be called upon. Talking to Smitty, she admits that while she doesn’t want her half sister to die, being trapped together didn’t change anything where her hatred for Eva. Realizing there’s another person who should be tested, Kat calls Andre. Unfortunately, he can’t be tested because of the meds he’s on from his injury. Leslie, too, turns out not to be a match. With that, all eyes literally turn toward Kat. Martin says she must get tested, and then rips into her when she hesitates. Kat, however, breaks, admitting that she’s not being petty or bitchy, but instead has real fears about what might happen. She tearfully exits, leaving Eva no closer to having found a donor!
Hayley and Bill Keep Secrets
Hayley and Bill are forced to stay at the Bowman Hotel as a result of a downed tree blocking access to their home. They talk about how the other would never dare cheat, each keeping their own secret. Hayley talks about the Abbott family and how there are a lot of rich, powerful businessfolks in Genoa City! Bill jokingly refers to his wife as a gold digger, causing her to become extremely upset with him. She pulls out all the stops, claiming she’d have fallen for him even if he didn’t have a penny to his name. And of course, Hayley being Hayley, she then uses sex as a way of making sure she and Bill get back on track.
Wait… Heather’s Already Leaving?
Vanessa is less upset about her latest row with Deanna than Joey’s actions at the fundraiser. Sure, he saved Abby, but he could have been killed by the falling chandelier. Vanessa refuses to lose another man she loves. Later, thinking Joey has gone to sleep, Vanessa goes to see Dani, who confides in her about having slept with Bill. Vanessa wonders if this was inevitable, given the recently resurfaced spark between Dani and Bill. Vanessa suggests Dani make sure that she and Bill are on the same page regarding keeping this secret.
Joey isn’t sleeping, as it turns out, but taking a meeting with his newly-returned sister, Heather. She announces that she’s heading back to London… unless he wants to go into business. He says no, and warns Heather that Vanessa is off limits. “I hope your blonde friend realizes how lucky she is,” notes Heather, only to have Joey insist he’s the lucky one.
