Nikki Worries Her Nightmare Is Coming True — Plus, In a Shocking Twist, [Spoiler] Works to Save Nick’s Life

Holden and his mother eat in the hospital cafeteria. He tells her that Malcolm has been filling him in on all the colorful family lore. Stephanie is more curious to hear about Claire. He’s not saying much and insists it’s only casual. His mom isn’t buying that. The jacket Claire bought him was clearly thoughtful. She suggests he cares more than he wants to admit. To her surprise, he owns up to that. His mother notes how much upheaval he’s had in his life lately and cautions him to be careful handling it.

Claire and Holden Talk Relationships

Claire is alone in her hotel room. She recalls sleeping with Holden and then goes through his bag. She finds a picture of him as a kid and thinks it’s cute. He arrives. He tells her that his father is doing well. Holden adds that his mom seems worried about the feelings he’s developing. They chat about his history as a player. He won’t discuss his other relationships. No woman has meant anything to him until now. Holden knows how much Kyle meant to her. Is that all over?

Jack and Victoria Discuss Nick

Kyle goes off to get their order as Jack chats with Victoria at Crimson Lights. He knows all about what Nick is going through. If he could beat his pill addiction, his money is on Nick recovering, too. She says it means a great deal that he offered to be her brother’s sponsor. Jack doubts Victor will feel the same. When they discuss her parents splitting up, Jack admits he hopes it sticks. Her mom deserves better than Victor after how he’s treated her. Victoria can’t agree. Kyle wades in to complain about Newman double-standards. Not looking for a fight, Victoria exits.

Jack understands his son’s anger but urges him to show the Newmans some compassion right now. It isn’t easy to be a child of Victor Newman. Kyle guesses that his father isn’t just being understanding. Jack can’t explain more because it would mean breaking a confidence.

Nikki Has a Nightmare

Nikki arrives in her suite with a headache. After popping a pill, she texts her son, asking him to join her for breakfast. She sends Jack a text asking to meet and then lies down. Nikki dreams of going to see Victor at the ranch, offering to reunite to help their son. When he tells her it’s too late and Nick is dead, she wakes up howling. Victoria arrives and finds her mother shuddering. Still in pain, Nikki sobs about her dream and says she doesn’t know what she would do if anything happened to her children. Jack calls her back, and they arrange breakfast. She worries Nick hasn’t returned her call, and Jack reassures her. Turning back to her daughter, Nikki admits she’s having terrible headaches.

Nick Struggles to Survive

Noah lunges at Matt as Nick ODs on the office floor. Victor calls for an ambulance. Matt calls out that Nick will be dead by the time they arrive. He’s the only one who can save his life. Although the family resists at first, Victor soon changes his mind. Matt hunches over Nick, shaking him. He orders Sharon to do mouth-to-mouth as he performs chest compression.

Finally, Nick gasps and comes to. The paramedics wheel in and check him over. They admit that performing CPR saved his life. Everyone glares over at Matt. Sienna wonders how he knew what to do. Who is he now? He doesn’t know. She insists on staying as Noah leaves with his father. Sharon thanks Matt for all he did. He’s not forgetting that she set him up. She points out that he could have ran and he didn’t. Victor calls in his security team to take Matt into their custody.

The Final Scenes

Claire assures Holden that she may love Kyle’s son, but she only likes him some of the time. It wasn’t in the cards. Holden asks if they are in the cards. She thinks it looks good. They make out.

Before Matt can be dragged out, Victor tells him that he’s grateful he saved his son’s life. He still orders him taken away. Sharon objects to this and Sienna asks what he plans to do.

Victoria gives her mom a massage and tries to reassure her. Victor calls and informs Nikki that she needs to go to the hospital. Their son had an overdose. He’s alive, but it was a close call. Victoria leads her weeping mother out.
