Could Holly *Actually* End Up In Jail?! Days of Our Lives’ Amy Isn’t Someone Who’s Used to Losing!

The police may have ended the search for Sophia on Days of Our Lives, but that doesn’t mean her story is anywhere close to over. Because Amy certainly is not giving up on her daughter — even if she is willing to accept that she may never see her again in this life!

After Sophia’s service and memorial, Amy told her husband that her path forward has never been more clear. She’s going to make sure no other child has to go through the pain and the bullying that Sophia endured — by pressing manslaughter charges against Holly! Is she really going through with this?

Will anything get her to back down? Right now, probably not. Shi Ne Nielson spoke with the Dishin’ Days podcast about Amy’s grieving process and warned, “She’s just not somebody who takes an ‘L’ easily. And she’s definitely not done yet.”

She gets that Amy may be tough to like, “But there’s no question that she loves her daughter. She might not do it ‘right.’ She might not do it the way people agree with, but she is a lion for her.”

And that’s why Amy’s doing this. If Sophia’s gone, she doesn’t have a voice to fight for herself anymore, so her mom has to be that voice. Amy “will protect her at all costs,” Nielson shared. “I think you’ve got to respect that, whether you agree with her stance or not.”

And this stance isn’t without precedent. In real life, parents have sued schools after bullying led to their child taking their own life. And they’ve won. This, though, is a bit different, after all that Holly endured at Sophia’s hands. Plus, we could see EJ stepping in to defend Holly, either out of fondness for the teen he was stepdad to, or just out of pure spite against Sophia. And if that happens, he won’t play nice.

Of course, if this drags on long enough, we might start entertaining the thought that it could lead towards Holly’s exit towards the end of the year when Ashley Puzemis stops airing. That’s if Holly exits with her portrayer!

In the end, as Nielson shared of her grieving character, “I think it’s hard for Amy to be that outward with her emotions, but once the pain and the sadness of what’s happening overflow, there’s nowhere else for it to go. It’s got to come out somewhere.”

Right now, it looks like that “somewhere” is coalescing into anger towards one, specific person. It’s the wrong person, of course, but that doesn’t mean Amy won’t succeed in making her pay in court. Holly could very easily end up in jail for manslaughter before the truth comes out about what really happened.

And if Amy’s going to all this trouble to go after Holly, God help Kristen when the grieving mom learns who really killed her daughter!
