Young & Restless Is Gearing up for a Victor Twist We Never Believed Possible — Here’s How
Victor dumping Jack on a yacht with a predatorial Pattycakes was the last straw for Young & Restless’ Nikki, who packed a bag and relocated to the Athletic Club afer a heated confrontation with her husband. When it comes to Victor’s various crimes and transgressions, Nikki has let a lot slide so as to continue standing by her man, but she finally donned her walking boots when he sought revenge on one of her closest friends… and his bitter rival. The crux of their current issues is that the Mustache went a step too far by having Jack abducted and left on a yacht with a whole lotta drugged alcohol and a newly-released Patty Williams.
When Nikki confronted Victor, he not only refused to apologize, but doubled-down, basically saying he didn’t give a rat’s behind what happened to Jackass Abbott. Nikki moved out and the estranged couple weren’t even able to come together in the interest of helping their son Nick face his drug addiction. So, yeah… the situation is dire.
In fact, the stress may be manifesting itself physically for poor Nikki. Indeed, in the weekly preview clip, Nikki reveals to a concerned Victoria that she’s been suffering from recurring headaches. It could be soap opera brain tumor syndrome, but there is another explanation, one that is every bit as concerning.
Nikki, as long-time viewers will recall, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerorsis (MS) back in the day. Putting it bluntly, her condition has been straight up ignored by the writers for many years, but the headaches indicate it may be making a comeback. As one might expect, there’s a reason for that.
If the stress of everything going on with the Newman family, and most importantly the estrangement from Victor, is causing Nikki’s MS to flare up, it may be the one thing that causes her famously stubborn husband to consider the impact his actions are having, perhaps not on others, but at least on his beloved. But headaches or not, Nikki can be equally determined… so a reconciliation would require a concession… and perhaps a twist we never thought possible.
Could the threat of Nikki’s health detoriorating actually cause Victor to, not only apologize for what he did to Jack, but agree to stop the ongoing war? Victor’s wanted revenge on Jack since he got rip-roaring high with Nikki that night in the hotel room to scare her into rehab. He hates the man. What’s more is that Jack is positioning himself to become a sponsor for Nicholas as well, which will really test Victor. Is it even possible he’d put the rivalrly to rest?! We’ll have to tune in to find out.
