Young & Restless’ Patty Sets a Terrifying New Trap for Jack… Using [Spoiler]
Did anyone really believe Patty was reformed? Well, if you did, think again. There was certainly no evidence of changed behavior in the way she retaliated against Matt for leaving on Friday’s episode… still every bit the unhinged woman scorned! Unsurprisingly, Patty-related problems seemed poised to escalate… and Young & Restless already dropped a sneaky hint as to how, and who it might involve.
While Patty has seemingly been preoccupied with the Phyllis/Matt Clark situation, don’t think for a moment that she can’t multi-task, or that she’s forgotten about the object of her eternal obsession, Jack. That point was proven when Kyle and Jack arrived home to a beautiful bouquet of flowers, sent by none other than Pattycakes herself.
“Perhaps,” we first thought, “She was just encouraged by Jack calling a truce of sorts with her in hopes that she’d help him take revenge on Victor.” After all, she’s giving her ex-husband space and is coming across as very reasonable and patient, which is something new. But the message on the card hit different after we watched the preview for next week.
Let us explain. The card read: “Thinking of you, don’t want to push, keeping my distance until you reach out to me. I’m hoping soon you’ll have a reason to. With love, Patty.” Seems pretty polite and innocuous… until you put it together with Kyle’s warning to Jack in the preview that Diane hadn’t shown up at work for two days and hadn’t slept in her bed, at which point it becomes ominous.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that the cryptic “reason” to reach out that Patty references in her note to Jack, is almost certainly Diane’s disappearance. It sure seems as though Patty, not trusting Jack’s new civility, decided to kidnap herself some insurance. We have to admit, as leverage over Jack goes, it’s foolproof.
If our hunch is correct, the flowers and card were Patty’s way of letting Jack know he’s being lured into a trap that he’ll be powerless to resist once he realizes that the safety of the woman he loves is at stake. What will Patty force Jack to do to save Diane? We’re not sure, but our minds sure jumped quickly to Diane’s recent nightmare!
