Hope Turns on [Spoiler] After Hearing Bad News — and Steffy Shocks Taylor
At the cliff house, Taylor’s outraged that Ridge asked Steffy to step aside so he could give her job to Brooke. At the office, Brooke and Ridge canoodle over their sexy night together. She promises she’s not mad at him. They’re making out when RJ walks in and cringes. At Logan, Bill wants to know if Hope’s going to come through for them. At Brooke’s house, Hope gets a heads-up that her mom is coming home to talk.
At Forrester, Brooke leaves and Zende and Eric join Ridge and RJ for a meeting. Eric makes a speech about the family taking the company into the future. As they all get to work on the couture line, Charlie wanders in and offers to help out. Ridge huffs, “Thank you.” Charlie heads off to “secure the perimeter.” Returning to their designs, Zende gets a shout-out on his sketch for couture. He admits he’s still upset about Hope For the Future.
Ridge and Eric grunt about reinstating Hope For the Future down the line, but they can’t say when. Right now they have to counter Bill and Katie’s successful line.
Shocker
At the cliff house, Steffy assures her mother that she got through to her dad. Taylor hates that she was even put in the position to have to defend herself. Ridge knows how valuable she is to Forrester. Steffy feels bad for him having to choose, but relays that she did get help from someone else. “Brooke.”
Steffy explains that she thinks Brooke had a change of heart and realized how ridiculous she was being. Taylor’s stunned to hear that Brooke texted Steffy to tell her she’s a great co-CEO. Steffy admits that if meant a lot.
Bad News
At Logan, Liam explains to his dad that Hope’s future hangs on what happened last night. At that very moment, Brooke arrives at home. Hope asks her mother to tell her that Ridge made her co-CEO. They drag out the inevitable with talk about the Logan women, but eventually, Brooke tells her daughter she’s sorry, but it’s not going to turn out how she imagined. Steffy is staying on as co-CEO.
At Logan, Liam stares at his phone waiting for word from Hope, who is still in disbelief back at Brooke’s house. She rants about Ridge disregarding their feelings. Brooke points out she put him in a terrible position. “It was too much, Hope.” Hope accuses her of choosing Ridge over herself… and her.
The Final Scenes
At the cliff house, Taylor marvels over Brooke giving Steffy a compliment. “Maybe she really does love your father.”
Over at Forrester, RJ complains about Katie using Eric’s designs. Zende admits, “You really did kill it, Granddad.” RJ’s sure to note that the execution wasn’t up to their standards, but the designs were great. Of their new line, they all agree that Katie and Bill won’t be able to compete with it… no matter who they bring in.
At Logan, Liam, Bill and Katie are still talking about Hope and whether she’ll leave Forrester. Liam observes that if Steffy’s still co-CEO, it’s a nightmare for Hope. That might be the push she’ll need to jump ship and come to Logan.
At Brooke’s place, she assures Hope that Ridge values her and her contributions, but he couldn’t demote his daughter. Hope fumes that Brooke caved, “You gave up on yourself and me.” Brooke insists he’ll try to get HFTF reinstated. Hope’s sure she won’t have Steffy’s support.
Hope tells Brooke she has no idea what was at stake here and questions if Forrester is really her family and her home as her mother insists. Ridge has sold her another empty promises and Hope is sick of it. Is it fair to ask her to come into work with a pit in her stomach? “I can’t do it anymore.” Brooke says, “You have to.” Hope replies, “I needed you, mom. I needed you, and you let me down.”
