Monica’s Advice Could Lead to Heartbreak For Shanice — and All the Pieces Are in Place to Bust the Plasma Ring
At the motel, Smitty and Jacob rehash the latest developments in the blood ring. Ren calls Jacob with instructions to be at the warehouse tomorrow night for extra security since V.I.P.s will be there. Smitty thinks this is finally it, but Jacob orders him to stay far away from the meeting. It’s too risky.
After Smitty leaves, Jacob calls Elon to inform him that all signs point to the Impaler being at the warehouse tomorrow. As they plan a raid, Elon tells his son he’s proud of him.
Jacob’s Ominous Words
Lia meets Grayson in the hospital stairwell to find out how they’ll move product at the clinic. Grayson points out that Derek only has him doing grunt work. He might never even let him in the lab. Lia orders him to get creative because it’s a matter of life and death. “Yours.”
At the station, Lia squirms over the curious glitches in the hospital CCTV footage Marcel discovered. She says she’ll look into it and makes a hasty retreat. Later, Elon fills Marcel in on the plan to bust the Impaler. Marcel, in turn, relays that he could tell Lia was the one who turned off the hospital cameras. Now, they wait for her to slip up.
Greyson covers when Eva finds him searching the clinic. He then carefully observes as she punches in a code to a secured cabinet so he can “grab something.”
Jacob calls Naomi to promise “on my life” that it’ll all be over soon.
Will Shanice’s Fears Become Reality?
Ted summons Monica to his office for help with Shanice regarding Leslie. When Shanice arrives, she finds only her aunt waiting for her. Monica assumes Shanice is pushing Ted away because she’s afraid of getting her heart broken. Speaking from experience, Monica says the regret of never trying can be worse than heartbreak. She urges her niece to fall hard and fast, without a safety net.
As Ted heads for the gym at the Country Club, Vanessa encourages Nicole to make her daydreams a reality. Nicole points out that sex was never their issue. Secrets were. Later, Ted interrupts Nicole while she flashes back to her steamy daydream about him. Flustered, she rushes off.
Vanessa meets with Lia at the hospital. The administrator wants to expand the hospital’s partnership with the clinic in honor of Doug.
Family Time
At home, Tyrell broods over being grounded, thanks to Samantha catching him with Jessica in his room. Martin tells his son their first time should be special, not a quickie with family downstairs. Samantha comes home bemoaning how Chessie made her feel she’ll always just be “Samantha from the group home.”
Eva arrives at that moment to give her an attitude-changing pep talk. An appreciative Martin invites Eva to join them tomorrow so she doesn’t miss any more family moments. It’s enough for Eva to help Samantha get ready for the cotillion, but getting an invitation from her brother means everything.
Next on Beyond the Gates, Grayson gives Ashley a folder in case something happens to him, Derek catches Grayson in the clinic, Lia encounters Jacob at the warehouse, and shots are fired during the raid. Plus, the cotillion starts, but Donnell’s nowhere to be found.
