Claire and Audra Trade Insults — and Amnesiac Matt Finds Himself Entranced by [Spoiler]
At the outdoor café, Claire runs into Audra. They’re both about to sit at the last table. Audra suggests they share it. They sit, and awkward tension ensues. Audra chatters about Spectra Charles and Claire needles about her hyping herself up. Audra’s sure she’s bored given she’s out of work and her family lost everything.
Claire chuckles about Audra’s heartfelt concern and reminds her that part of her company is stolen. Audra asks if she needs an apology. “I am so sorry I’m killing it in my position, and you have no one left to hand you a job you don’t deserve.” Oh, snap.
Claire admits her grandparents gave her a job, but they trusted her, just like Sally trusts Audra. She needles about Audra having no social life and screwing everything up. She suggests she’s morally compromised and teases her about wanting Noah again. Audra finds it rich that she wants to protect a Newman when she tried to kill them all. With that, she stalks off.
A Nervous Wreck
At Sharon’s place, Noah fusses over Sienna, who feels paralyzed until she knows if Matt is dead or coming for them. Noah reassures her and urges her to sleep. She agrees and heads upstairs, leaving Noah to call Victor and ask for a call back.
Memory Loss
Matt arrives at the Club and hopes the bartender recognizes him, but he doesn’t. Cane walks in and the bartender calls him “boss”. Matt asks if they’ve ever met before. Cane doesn’t think so. Matt tries chatting him up, but Cane walks away.
Holden joins Cane at his table and learns he’s made bail. Matt listens as they talk about Victor being pissed. He explains about the AI emails and notes that irony is alive and well.
Black Cloud
Nick walks into Phyllis’ office and she’s immediately amused by his frowny face. They argue at length about the situation with Victor. Nick doesn’t want her to go to prison and warns her to take the nearest exit ramp or the point she’s trying to make will be all she has left!
Nick paces like a caged animal as Phyllis rants. Nick fumes, “It’s his company!” Why is she like this? Why does she make it so hard for people to care about her?! Phyllis notices his intense demeanor and sweatiness and questions what is going on with him. He shouts about her trying to pretend they’re friends and declares he doesn’t care what happens to her anymore. As he storms off, punching the elevator button, Phyllis frowns.
A Miracle
Traci welcomes Lily into the Abbott mansion, where she breaks down in her arms before explaining that Cane is a match for Malcolm, and everyone’s happy about it. Traci thinks it’s a miracle, not only for Malcolm, but for Lily to know Cane’s the same man who still holds her heart.
Traci noticed she didn’t have happy tears when she arrived. Lily explains that Cane has now been arrested and may not be able to go to New York. Traci isn’t surprised by Victor’s actions. Lily fears that everything will fall apart.
Traci reassures her and asks about her relationship with Holden. Lily says they have more in common than she thought; he’s family now, though she still has concerns. Traci reminds her they’re all on the same side. Their love for Malcolm will bond them and change their lives.
Showtime
At the Club, Cane sends Holden off to call Stephanie to see what can be done about donating for Malcolm given Ashby can’t leave the state. Matt’s still observing and listening as Phyllis strides in and greets Cane, who tells her he’ll never forgive her for this.
They rehash their failed collaboration and he orders her out. She smirks. He needs all the paying guests he can get. Holden rejoins Cane and they head out to meet Lily. Cane pauses at the bar to tell Phyllis she’s poison. Matt eyeballs her with interest. Phyllis rants at the bartender about his boss, and then asks Matt why he’s staring at her.
No News Is Not Good News
Nick arrives at Sharon’s place, where Noah has no news about Matt. Nick says Victor’s men have not found Matt’s car or his body. Nick leaves again as Sienna appears.
Breaking News
At Crimson Lights, Lily greets Holden and is relieved to see Cane made bail. He breaks the news that he can’t go to New York. “I can’t leave Genoa City.” Amanda made the request and the judge turned it down. Lily fumes. Holden says Stephanie told him Cane can donate from Genoa City. Cane pulls Lily aside to talk privately.
The Final Scenes
At Sharon’s place, Sienna fears Matt’s alive and tells Noah she was always scared of him, but she couldn’t have imagined he was so evil. She beats herself up, feeling she’s to blame for his family being in this mess. She’s sure he is coming. “I can feel it. I think he is already here.”
At the Club, Matt looks at Phyllis rather adoringly and tells her she has main character energy. He questions her about living there and she frowns, “You’re not from around here?” He guesses not. Phyllis snarks about him being vague. Matt tells her, “Honestly, I just don’t remember who I am right now.”
At Crimson Lights, Claire spots Holden and tells him she accepts his invitation to New York. If he tells her what happened between him and Audra in L.A., she’ll consider that a bonus.
On the patio, Cane tries to calm Lily. He can do his part from there, but if she needs him in New York, he’ll break his bail.
Back at the Club bar, Phyllis chirps away about Cane to Matt. He wishes he could remember who he is. Just then, Nick walks in.
