Maybe all those years of turning a blind eye to daddy Sonny’s illegal activities on General Hospital have finally compromised Dante’s ability as well as his morals. As many a fan has pointed out, he’s the police commissioner; shouldn’t he at least be good enough a detective to realize that Nathan isn’t Nathan?

In an ideal world, yeah, sure. But c’mon. It’s not like the PCPD has some amazing track record for collaring perps. If it did, Sonny’d be in prison for murdering Cates, Kristina would be behind bars for trying to kill Ava, Ava and Ric would be doing time for extortion, Kristina, Alexis and Ava would be rocking prison stripes for holding Ric hostage, Sidwell would be pressing license plates for offing Dalton…

See what we mean? The PCPD is only slightly less inept at crime-fighting than the Keystone Kops. But on top of that, Dominic Zamprogna has two perfectly reasonable explanations for why his on-screen alter ego hasn’t been able to figure out that Nathan is really Cassius Faison (or at least not Nathan).

“If you’re duped by an identical twin… you get a pass,” the actor suggests to Soap Opera Digest, adding that Dante isn’t the actual police commish, merely the acting one. That being the case, “I absolve him of being bad at his job.”
