Theo Lets Marlena In On EJ’s Big Secret, and Kristen Begins Making Moves Against Her Brother
EJ’s none too happy to come home to a shirtless Xander and Gwen making out on the couch. (Ok, but he has a point in telling them to go upstairs!) But Kristen gets in and ruins everyone’s fun as she helps herself to some champagne and announces she’s moving in.
Gwen and Xander toast to the happy news! EJ does not. But he can’t do much until Father’s will is read and they see who ends up with the mansion. The peanut gallery lap it all up. Gwen gives her friend a cheeky welcome to the mansion and Kristen teases EJ a bit more before sashaying away. EJ grumbles off and Xander finally admits to Gwen that he was upset about learning Brady and Sarah are serious. Gwen’s solution? Sex.
Are Alex and Stephanie In Trouble?
Stephanie wakes up to find Alex taking care of Trey since Chanel needed last minute help. Stephanie is not having it. This is not a day for her to take care of a baby, so Alex gets sulky about not being able to make her happy and offers to take Trey away.
“I figured Trey would be a fun surprise.” Surprise! Here’s a baby to worry about for your PTSD! Stephanie feels like Alex is manipulating her to get on board with starting a family she’s not sure she wants. But he insists he wants her happiness first, then they’ll deal with a family when she’s ready. (Ixnay on family-talk right now, dude.)
Stephanie’s upset and has to figure out who she is and what she wants all over again. Alex brings up her and Chad (He’s back next week!) and asks if she doesn’t want kids or doesn’t want kids with her husband. They get nowhere but more hurt feelings. When Alex has nothing else to say, he runs off with Trey and Stephanie drops down crying.
Paulina Warns Belle
Paulina and Belle meet to go over the DA’s problems with Judge Dabney. Luckily, Paulina’s in a place where she understands facing tough choices and keeping secrets! Paulina talked the judge down, so Belle needs to lay low. The mayor has enough problems thanks to EJ!
“You will not believe what that man has done now!” (Why bring this up if you aren’t going to tell Belle what “that” is??) Paulina vagues it up and lists off the public headaches he’s given her, then lets Belle take off with one more word of caution.
Theo Tells Marlena Everything
Theo arrives at Marlena’s office for their session. He tells her about his meltdown at the Pub, confirms her doctor/patient confidentially and jumps right into it: Lexie is alive! “Your mother. Is alive.” It’s a lot, even for Marlena. She stammers and rubs her head, then does the only thing she can think of: How does Theo feel?
“It would cause so much upheaval in my family.” Theo’s not allowed to tell them and Marlena sees right away that EJ used this to make his own son DiMera CEO. Theo’s stunned. EJ had selfish motives?! (We thought you knew this, Theo.)
Theo thinks EJ is partly doing this because he loves Lexie and wanted to honor Nono’s last wishes. Marlena recovers (She’s been resurrected in a pod by a DiMera, so it’s not that much of a leap) and suggests Theo try journaling to work through his feelings and they can keep talking and — Aunt Kristen barges in for a word with Marlena.
In the Show’s Final Moments
EJ runs off to call Rita in the middle of town and yell at her about Kristen moving in. “If she gets too close we’ll have no choice but to take… other measures!” (Ooh, who will kill whom first?) He hangs up as Belle walks up to demand answers about Johnny and Chanel’s hearing and chuckles at the idea that he has Judge Dabney in his pocket. He showed up at the right place, right time to help his son.
Kristen screams at Marlena a bit about ripping her daughter out of her arms and storms back out. (OK, but what was the point of going to the hospital for that?) Theo walks in on Xander and Gwen’s makeout session, looking for EJ. He grimaces and backs out, so Gwen finally decides to take this upstairs. Xander stops to get coffee — and demands answers from a returned Kristen. He knows she’s spying on her brother!
