As All Hell Breaks Loose at the Cliff House, Sheila Begs Deacon Not to End Their Marriage

In their apartment, Sheila laments that Deacon and Taylor were having an affair. Deacon admits he’s fallen in love with her. Sheila asks, “What about me? You don’t love me anymore?” Rather than respond, Deacon just wants to know that she didn’t hurt Taylor… which kinda should give her the answer.
Sheila clarifies that she talked to Taylor, which was more than she deserved. She’s hurt that Deacon still sees her as a monster. She cries that he’s standing there telling her he’s in love with somebody else.
Deacon explains it was innocent at first… they were both hurting and felt invisible. Sheila gasps that she’s always seen him. She tells Deacon that Taylor doesn’t love him, she loves what he’s become… a business owner with status. She loved him when he had nothing. Sheila reminds him he promised “until death do us part.” He remembers. Sheila asks if this is what he wants, and cryptically adds, “Do you really think this is wise, Deacon?”
Deacon complains that Sheila disappointed him again and again. He didn’t choose Taylor over her… this is because of her lies! Sheila helped the woman who killed his best friends. When he forgave her, she did it again! Sheila knows she hurt him, but he loves her. Deacon says it’s been building up over time. Sheila argues, “Not for me.” She’s cherished every chapter of this life with him. She sniffles that he’s amazing… she can understand Taylor falling for him, but he belongs to her. “Tell me it’s over.”
Taylor Fills In the Fam
Taylor returns to the cliff house, where Ridge immediately confronts her about Sheila nearly catching her with Deacon. Taylor doesn’t beat around the bush, “Sheila knows.” Steffy’s appalled to learn that Sheila confronted her mother at her office. Taylor assures her she’s fine, but she’s worried about Deacon.
Finn points out that Sheila didn’t hurt Taylor… maybe she has changed. Ridge scoffs at the very idea given she dressed up in a nurse’s uniform. He’s irked that Taylor didn’t lie to her. Taylor felt she could see through her. She said she was hurt, but she could see the concealed rage. Taylor expands on the horrors of the pizza cutter… Sheila wanted her to feel fear. Steffy declares that they have to assume that the old Sheila is back, ready to strike. Taylor has to pray that Sheila won’t hurt Deacon.
Still Worrying
At Brooke’s place, Hope continues to obsess over Deacon/Taylor/Sheila with Deke. She’s decided that it was misguided to support ‘Daylor’, but Deke doesn’t want to see him stay with Sheila just to keep Taylor safe. Hope agonizes over what may happen if Sheila finds out. No one will be safe!
Hope and Deke try, and fail, to reach their father and wonder if he’s with Taylor… or Sheila. Maybe he’s telling his wife the truth… and how would Sheila react?
The Final Scenes
At the cliff house, all hell breaks loose when Taylor announces she wants to go check on Deacon. Steffy hollers that she’s put them all at risk. Taylor argues that she didn’t attack her. Being super helpful, Ridge growls, “Maybe she’s saving all of her wrath for Deacon.”
At their apartment, Sheila realizes that Taylor has the legitimacy that she could never give him. She knows how hard it’s been for him, being stuck there with her on holidays, but he believed in them. Deacon says the faith they had was built on trust. Sheila says they betrayed each other, but they can come back from this.
Deacon sighs. He didn’t want this to end. Sheila pleads, “Don’t abandon me like everyone else.” They shared the commonality of being outcasts. Deacon replies, “Maybe not anymore.” Sheila knows he loves her. “Please, don’t do this. I will do anything. Just please, tell me our marriage, it’s not over.”
