Days Vico Escorcia as Ari

Ari is finally back on our screens next week, but Gabi’s daughter is looking a bit different this time around! Days of Our Lives announced back at the beginning of the year that Marissa Reyes would be exiting the role with a new actress taking over in April. Reyes said farewell to the sudser last Thursday with some final scenes between Ari and not-so-bad-boy Liam, and now actress Vico Escorcia is stepping into the role on Wednesday, April 8th!

Though this is Escorcia’s first soap opera role, she’s appeared in a number of movies and TV series both in Mexico and the U.S., mostly recently as Paloma in the Apple TV+ series, Acapulco alongside The Young and the Restless alum, Jessica Collins (ex-Avery). Acapulco, of course, was nominated for Best Foreign Language series at this year’s Critics Choice Awards, and Escorcia herself has been nominated for two Ariel Awards — which are equivalent to the Oscars in Mexico — and received a Silver Goddess Award — which is equivalent to the Golden Globes.

Born in Mexico City, Escorcia’s fluent in Spanish, English and French, so maybe we’ll see Ari pick up some French classes in college! First off, though, we’ll have to see if Ari and Holly can patch things up after the complete collapse of their friendship, because that’s the first item of business when Escorcia airs! Since Holly actually had a good reason for her bad behavior — you know, being on unprescribed anti-psychotic drugs — we’ve got a feeling that they’ll be able to work things out. Though it may be a bit awkward for a bit.

Once that happens, the real question is if Holly and Tate can enlist Ari to help them bust Sophia. They’ll need all the allies they can get, especially since it looks like Kristen, against all odds, has decided not to punish Sophia and instead use her to get her own revenge.

We’d say welcome to Salem, but with how far ahead Days of Our Lives shoots, we’re sure Escorcia has more than settled into the town, the show and the role by now! So instead, we’ll just say that we can’t wait to see her!
