Discovery’s Deadliest Catch is preparing to resume filming in the wake of the tragic death of deckhand Todd Meadows, who died after falling overboard while at sea.

Trey John Green III — one of the men aboard the Aleutian Lady when castmate Meadows fell overboard and died on Feb. 25 — confirmed to Page Six that Discovery Channel cameras will resume filming the series by the end of the week.

“We are just touching home for 2-3 days then heading back to Dutch [Harbor in Alaska] to finish the season,” Green told the outlet.

He added that “Discovery was filming” at the time of the incident.

Meadows, 25, was a rookie deckhand who was filming his first season of Deadliest Catch, when he fell overboard from the vessel, approximately 170 miles north of Dutch Harbor, Alaska.

Green described him as a “rock star,” saying the crew’s fishing expedition was a “great story” that “unfortunately ended in tragedy.”

“We all did everything we could to save him, and out at sea that’s no easy task,” Green added.

According to a U.S. Coast Guard spokesperson, watchstanders were notified at 5:05 p.m. local time that Meadows had gone overboard. He was recovered about 10 minutes later and found unresponsive. Despite first aid and resuscitation attempts, he could not be revived.

The Anchorage Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy and the Coast Guard has confirmed it is investigating the incident.

The Discovery Channel also released a statement on Meadows’ death: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Todd Meadows. This is a devastating loss, and our hearts are with his loved ones, his crewmates and the entire fishing community during this incredibly difficult time.”
