Say It Isn’t So! The Young & Restless Jaw-Dropper That Could End Jack and Diane’s Marriage
Young & Restless dropped a bomb on viewers in the final moments of Friday’s episode, and we’re not talking about the cliffhanger, but rather the previews for next week! The most unexpected of the clips revealed that Victor had kidnapped Jack, and Diane and Kyle were understandably alarmed. Why, then, are we concerned about the implications for the Abbott marriage? Fans were stunned to learn that not only will there be yet another kidnapping next week, but that it involves the most unlikely character: Jack Abbott. Less surprising was Victor being the captor, given that he’s done this to his rival before. Replacing Jack with Marco in his marriage to Phyllis was hard to forget… least of all for Red, who is still acting out on her rage toward The Mustache to this day.
Unfortunately, we believe Jack’s wife, now Diane, will become collateral damage once again. Worse, if our hunch is correct, it will be on Jack, and not Victor. How? Wait for it…
We’re guessing it will come out that Jack, much like Lily, agreed to be “kidnapped” by Victor as a means of persuading Billy to hand Chancellor back over to the Newmans. Not because he gives a hoot about Victor’s troubles, but because he perceives what Billy did as stealing from – who else? – Nikki.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that when Diane finds out that Jack deliberately let her and Kyle fear for his safety, heck, maybe even his life, in order to do a good deed for Nikki, she’s going to s-n-a-p.
Diane was already on her last straw with her husband’s devotion to his ex-wife and longtime pal. Suddenly, that scene between the two women in the powder room, in which Diane warned Nikki to stay away from Jack, takes on new significance given that Nikki may very well be in on this scheme. Talk about adding insult to injury!
If our theory bears fruit, Young & Restless fans are going to be left scratching their heads: What could Jack possibly have been thinking when he decided to participate in this?!
It’s no secret how angry Diane was over him throwing away his sobriety for Nikki that fateful night in the hotel suite, and after all the arguments they’ve had about him putting La Newman ahead of his family, he’d have to have realized that this would never, ever fly with his wife. She’ll eviscerate him!
