Days of Our Lives actor Francisco San Martin’s cause of death has been revealed.

The actor, who played Dario Hernandez on the beloved soap, was found dead by cops at his Los Angeles home on Thursday. He was 39 years old when he died.

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office has confirmed he died by suicide. Francisco’s co-stars have been paying tribute, with Camila Banus, who played his on-screen sister Gabi, sharing on Instagram, “Pepe, what can I say but I love you and rest in peace, my friend. Love you mucho mucho mucho. I wish I had told you more.”

Fans have also been offering their condolences to Francisco’s family. “Tragic news as Days of Our Lives actor Francisco San Martin has passed away by suicide at 39 in his LA home. Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time,” one person posted on X.

Another who knew Francisco shared, “Very, very sad. I am a bit in shock, as I saw Francisco at my gym most every day.” A third person wrote, “So sad to hear about the death of Francisco San Martin, a star from Days of Our Lives and Jane the Virgin. He was only 39! His contributions to television will never be forgotten.”

Someone else said, “Rest in Peace Fransico may your soul Rest in peace.” Another fan posted, “Let God strength to his family.Francisco San Martin RIP.”

His career began when he appeared in theater shows as a child. He also made a name for himself in the modeling world before finally getting his big break on Days of Our Lives.

Francisco appeared in several episodes of the hit soap opera from 2010 until 2011. He also appeared in rival soap The Bold and the Beautiful for 16 episodes, playing groundskeeper Mateo.

His other credits include playing estate manager Fabian Regalo del Cielo in Jane the Virgin and starring in the 2013 film Behind the Candelabra.
