Days of Our Lives’ Rafe Has Left Salem, But…

Yes, things between Rafe and Jada have seemingly come to an end (for now) on Days of Our Lives. After his tryst with Sami, Jada called off their engagement and their relationship and suggested it’s time to move on. Rafe, in turn, mentioned that he’ll be taking a job out of town and even Leo dropped a line this past Thursday about how odd it was Rafe was gone right after EJ’s shooting.
But that does not mean he’s gone for good! It seems this job out of town is more of a way for him to get some space and clear his head. The show assures us that neither he, nor portrayer Galen Gering, are going anywhere and there’s been no status change. Rafe (and his doppelganger Arnold) have been front and center for months and months, so it’s not a huge surprise that he’s taking a beat right now.
He is still very much embroiled in the EJ shooting mystery, between the video camera he planted (and that EJ intercepted) in the DiMera mansion and being one of the shooting suspects himself. Though it does, admittedly, seem doubtful that he would have pulled the trigger after he’d set up a camera at the scene of the crime. We suppose stranger things have happened in Salem, but Rafe’s a PI, a former cop and a former FBI agent. He’s not dumb, nor crazy.
Though he could be incredibly clever…
Regardless, Gabi’s still very much in the thick of the suspect list, and someone’s going to need to keep the peace in the Hernandez household as she spars with Leo and even ticks off Javi. Plus, Rafe’s niece, Adrianna, is about to return to Salem all grown up! And while Jada’s busy as both commissioner with a murder mystery on her hands and supporting Shawn as he deals with the possibility of his dad dying, there’s nothing to say she and Rafe won’t someday find their way back together again.
And if not, there’s no shortage of love when it comes to Salem, so we’re sure Rafe will be just fine!
